Which I entered as a filler only but couldn't get internet access to change.

Outtakes:

(the one I meant to enter)

And several other bat shots that were better than this one.

I was working on this one, but Penny had one very similar, and I liked my Big Sur shot, so I didn't enter this. Big Sur bombed, sadly :-(

Was also considering this one, but it ran a distant third to the other two:

Outtakes

All from Sand Dunes (the last one was actually taken perched upon the easternmost dune face of the park, facing north). I really liked the BW one, the form and simplicity of it.

Outake

Never really a consideration, but I just wanted to show and lament about this one. If only it was higher quality.
My camera does not do 1600 ISO well at all. I think another camera might have succeeded.
I love this one as a thumb, but did not enter it because I figured it would be creamed for the bad quality.

Did about as expected. Wish I coulda gotten a bit more constructive feedback though, as this was my first time in the genre.
If you are so inclined ;-)

The one I really wanted to enter -- I love this shot. But I figured people wouldn't care for the seagulls being out of focus (though I kind of like it...)

But I was really excited about this capture. So I entered this instead:

these were a few others I considered... but my friends convinced me to go with

no, I am not complaining... :)

Outtake that I know would have scored much better, but I wanted to do something different this time:
