After lots of humming and hawing over whether to get the Canon 70-200, Canon 10-22mm or the sigma 10-20mm I bit the bullet and ordered:

sigma 10-20mm
Hoya 77mm filter kit (Polar, UV & ND)
a sling style bag
16gb CF card
battery grip & 2 batteries

I went with the sigma because it was so much cheaper, and allowed me to be able to afford everything else here, for what it would have cost to get the other 2.

All of this is going with me to Maui in 1 month! So excited to get some awesome scenery shots!
The flash card and battery grip were a must.. I going for 2 weeks so I dont wanna run out of memory.

The Sigma 10-20 is a nice lens. I love mine.

I went to Oahu back in November, but I only took my point and shoot...

Couple questions... did you go with the 3.5 constant or 4-5.6 on the Sigma? (this is for my own curiosity)
and
Are the filters slim? If not, you may have some vignetting because of how wide the Sigma is, unless you shoot a bit less than all the way wide (maybe 14mmish). Also remember a Polarizer does odd things on a lens that wide... part of your scene is totally polarized, part is not at all so your sky will have very different coloring across the scene, for instance.

hmmm. Things I never knew. Good advice since I'm currently drooling over wide angle shots....(although at this point I feel investing that much money on a 1.6x sensor isn't worth it)

I went with the 4-5.6, I didn't feel a 3.5 was necessary on a wide angle, and it was cheaper.
I didn't realize that about the filters, though Im not terribly worried about it.

Dude, I love that lens. I bought that same lens with graduation money about a year and half ago. Here is one of my favorite shots with it that cracked the top 10 and won me third place in the Landscape category of the Everglades Photographic Society :)

Please do NOT bite bullets. They can break your teeth, or worse!

Congrats on the new gear. Great choice
