***UPDATE***
The lighting has arrived! A couple real quick test shots and I will write a review later of the lighting in case anyone is interested in getting some.
Yes I know you can see the wrinkled backdrop....
Been talking about this for about 6 months now....Finally did it. Look what's coming to my house:

i'd be thinking santa is coming early but you have foregone that luxury .. !!
i reckon the incredible materialism that goes along with christmas is a joke ..
anyway .. congrats on your new toys ..
you'll have to take pics of your studio with them all set up when you get it ..

| OMG!!! THAT is SOO DARN COOL, JASON!!! Congratulations! Way to go! I've been picking up studio stuff here and there, but I don't have all the "stuff" -- and I have 4 studio portrait shoots next week, so I'm going to be thinking of you and how I wish I had all those bells and whistles! Can't wait to see your photos from your own studio. Yes. Show us your set up when you get it all set up, okay? |

Well, it left Illinois this morning....One of the things I love about the internet (no, not porn Slippy) is that with the advent of online tracking it's almost as much fun tracking the package as it is to get it.
I will post some shots after it arrives... |

I sent you a big wad of bubble wrap for you to pop on Christmas. I'll send you the tracking number to double your fun. :P |

Yeah, that was crazy! I didn't know B&H sold products with an optional "SlippyKit"! I didn't hesitate to throw down the extra 99 cents for that! |

| for any who might be looking, i have immediately found this Hensel set to be very easy to use. they package everything very securely and it comes in a rolling case to take with you on location. the lights themselves are built like tanks. The stands are easy to set up, though when extended to max height feel a little sketchy and wobbly. the instructions as far as set up and use are sparse, probably not a big deal for experienced users but i am not one of those. this particular rig has a built in slave in both units and the transmitter is nice in that you can increase/decrease the power of the flash units from the buttons on the top of it. all in all so far i would say i am very pleased with the value for the money. |
