I'm going on vacation tomorrow for a week so I'm posting this a couple of days early. Similarily, next week's thread will be a day late.
Welcome to this week's "Member of the Week" post. Every week I will post the name of a member and a link to their profile. This will be our Member of the Week. Go have a look at their profile page and/or portfolio. Enjoy their photos, leave some comments and most of all post one or two of their photos in this thread so others can see them and enjoy them. If you like you can also write a little blurb saying why you enjoy this member's photos.
This week's Member of the Week is mycelium. And here are a couple of his photos.

Love this shot, Damon! And there are others too...*off to raid his portfolio* proof that less is indeed more :-)

Even before getting his first ribbon recently, you could see he was bound for glory (here and elsewhere).
I really like the way many of his images abstract the subject without even being abstract -- they beautifully emphasize colors and form. Here's a good example of one that would not be considered abstract, but still emphasizes lines and forms to me:
He has a lot of talent, and heart too. He was a great team player on DPL2.
Congratulations on being member of the week Damon!
One of my faves...

Man has a hell of an eye, no two ways about it. Sometimes I wish I had his eye, actually. It's hard for me to understand how he's only copped one ribbon.

I just browsed through his portfolio and saw a lot of excellent images. This one is particularly close to my heart:
