 I'm sure that some people will want this disqualified as a multiple-exposure image - but it is a single exposure, four seconds long, made with a strobe light in a dark room.

To make this image I collected several fallen apple leaves of varying shades from my back yard, tied black threads to them, and dangled them in front of a fan with a strobe light on. (First use I've ever actually had for the strobe...) This was one of about 40 shots that I took. There was another shot that I actually liked better... but friends told me they preferred this one, so I listened to them. The one thing I don't really like about this one is the hot spot mid-left.

Post-processing was limited to a 70% Auto-Contrast adjustment layer, use of the Selective Color filter to bring out the reds, and slight cropping.

I'm pretty new at this, so I'll be happy to make it into the top 25% :)

Nice flashwork,but too confusing.Unpleasant to look at for more than a second,good photograph you can watch for hours and hours....

An after the wind scene. I lke the dark corners that emphasize the flash of colour through the centre.

Interesting shot with slow shutter speed to capture the movement of the leaves - unique and lovely, muted autumn colors.

I love the colours and tones of this image. The composition is well balanced in a random way. The textures and colours make it almost touchable. The blur, if thats what it is, works well to represent the challenge theme. Its a beautiful and balanced image with a touch of drama.

The strobe effect is not isolated enough. Between so much of it, and the busy and bright background, I find it hard to distinguish any details.
