Here are my predictions

Rotating image sensors to rotate from landscape mode to portrait mode without having to rotate the camera.

Sensors between 11 and 14mp are common. Noise is very low.

Most sensors will be using a method similar to Foveon's. Exact color capture at each photosite.

EVF's at over 1mp. Were already almost there. Check out the Konica Minolta Dimage A2.

Interchangeable sensors.

1 gb of flash memory built in with addition storage available.

LED's will be used in flash systems for lower power requirements and smaller flash units. These LED's can also be placed around the lens for perfect macro and close-up photography.

Way faster burst rates and processing.

Eyeglasses with large high resolution screens wirelessly connected to the camera with full editing capabilities. This would allow easier editing of images in the field.

OLED's (organic Light emitting Diodes) will replace all LCD's. They are already starting to show up. They can be viewed in any light with better contrast and lower power consumption.

That's all for now.

I am predicting/hoping that electronic viewfinder technology will advance so much that you'll have go to a museum to see an example of single lens reflex technology.

How about fine object depth detection to match the image resolution? I guess that is a bit further off. Oh the applications would be so cool!

Easy blue screen matting! or on the fly faked depth of field! output as layered PSD masked files with transparency at a variety of intervaled depths? I guess suited to video in a big way, but would be pretty interesting to explore in stills!

wow! would like to share these articles.

"...by the end of the year Nikon will be solely a digital imaging company. This is also likely true of Canon, too, though I suspect they'll be more quiet about the move from film to digital. Canon has more mass market retailers selling their low-end 35mm product, so they're not going to rock the boat, just simply drill a hole in the bottom and scuttle it without telling anyone."

Haha! :O

They'll also not be selling much in the way of low end imaging products either.

Know which company in the world shipped the most cameras last year ?

Nokia.

35mm photodetectors will become the standard and film will be long gone.

Every 18 months technology doubles and prices halve (this applies to anything tech). So just do some elementary algebra and you can figure that out...I'd do it but it's been a long day...ha
