If you ever get bored with photography, you need to write your memoirs.

As for which camera, I think you need to find a tank that takes pictures.

I just got a mental picture of our superhero with a waterproof helmet cam.

Don't need a helmet with this ...

You know..

This is a good time to look into the Canon Loyalty program. They might cut you one hell of a deal on some new hardware with the return of your camera..

If I was that little girl's parent, you'd have a new camera.

ETA: I'd also be horrifically ashamed of myself for being nowhere near her.

I agree with both statements.

Do they offer a bigger discount with the trade in of more than one camera? Or only take one at a time?

Only one at a time I think.. And the upgrades offered depend on the model (class) you're turning in.

Congratulations on the save Juliet!

But have you thought...if your camera is a loss, then now you have nothing to loose. If you have the bathe it in...whatever...to get the salt out, if you can dry it out & get it to go somehow, then you have a very valuable camera that takes non-standard pics. Attach a "broken" lens to your imperfect camera & you will be taking one-of-a-kind pictures. The kind of shots you will never be able to get with whatever you decide to buy to replace it. Life has a lot of funny twists & turns. You are always where you're supposed to be. Go with what you've got.

If I'm ever in mortal danger, I hope you are nearby!
