The deep DOF helps make this shot. By having good focus from the nose back, I can enjoy all the little details in that doggy gaze.

Is this photo cropped at post process?

Thanks for the comments. That photo was taken straight from the camera to Flickr. I didn't crop it at all.

Here is another one with my dog.

Morning walk

Off to comment your photos. I have been having computer problems so I haven't been able to be online much. I am behind on comments.

Nicely done with the low angle. It's a dog's eye view of the scene. The dog looks very similar to a dog that I had that died of old age. He was left here as a pup. His full name was Stupidyellerholediggingbarkingdog, or Yellow dog for short. He was all love and no brains.

Haven't posted in a while. I haven't been shooting well lately. I think my camera is like a digital mood ring. When I'm cranky, I take bad pictures! Thought I better contribute something anyway. Hope everyone else is doing well!

I think better tones here with little faster shutter speed :)

The new lens @ 70mm giving me a very nice results on BW. Contrast on this photo is pretty well imo.

I haven't shot anything worth seeing in B&W with my big cam lately, but here is something from yesterday morning to keep the thread active.

Got a couple for the last push of the month.

Just want to say this has been a fun exercise for me, and I really liked it a lot. It also encouraged me to take my LX3 along a lot more often than I used to.

Not everyone's thing to actually go into the machine and change settings around. Most people uses Auto everything, even they buy a very nice DSLRs, just put on auto and use it as "Point and Shoot" camera. It's a shame. But other people are very curious about their machines, and they do know inside and out what all those settings are... which probably gives them advantage to get better results.

This SC has been not only BW and settings practice but also practice to get good crops from your viewfinder. Pay more attention to your viewfinder, you don't have to use CS5 to move horses around LOL

Even we have another three days until this one is over, thanks to participants and showing your talents ;)

I am starting another SC. It's about using off-camera flashes to create street photography. You can use one or more flash to take original photos. Please do check out the thread here :)

A good sample photo of the idea
