Highway to the danger zone! Be sure to read Louis's info on this shot. Very cool idea â€Â¦ while kinda dangerous ;D

Edit to say: this sounds similar to the "dragging the shutter" idea I've been reading about?

I do appreciate the commentary! I wonder if the Droid has any quirks in the same vein. I haven't played with camera shake.

all with Retro camera App for droid - love it!

Just went out and downloaded the Retro Camera app because it looks like so much fun. In the process I noticed that the free version has >250k downloads, but the paid one ($2.99) has <100! Gracious.

Retro funkiness surely coming this evening.

I don't think I've done a side challenge before.
Is it OK to post comments here or is it preferred to do it on the image itself?

Better to put them on the image comments normally. People like getting comments :)

I'll post some older ones since I haven't been able to shoot (lots of work, and editing a shoot from Saturday).

Hey, I may be reckless, AND foolish, but I... what was I saying? Oh yeah, by "middle of the tunnel", I meant at about the 300m mark of a 600m length. Not in the road. :) There's a pedestrian barrier which I was safely cowering behind.

From what I understand, dragging the shutter refers to a kind of bracketing where you meter for natural, usually low-light conditions, then slow the shutter by degrees, all the while using flash to light the main subject. The effect is to bring those elements not lit by flash up to the same exposure level as the flash, resulting in an evenly exposed photo.

This was done in the parking lot of my work using the Pano app.

Here's the same image on DPC:

This was shot into a 50mm lens in reverse using iPhone. The color effect is an great app called 'camera bag'.

A blessing and a curse â€Â¦ a really small lens lets you into small places â€Â¦ like the viewfinder on a D300, for example:

no filters or apps used.

Day 2 -

So I'm a little early, but this is just such fun, I can't wait.

So this is not a new image, but just thought some might want to see an HDR on the iphone. This is from ProHDR for the iphone4. You take an image exposed for the lightest area, and another exposed for the darkest. The app will align and merge them, and then you can slider-adjust the balance between the two. Since this was hand-held, there is a slight misalignment that can be noticed in the merge. But it is still a pretty cool feature. Will be interesting to see how the HDR feature that is coming with iOS 4.1 will be implemented.

Not new, but not that old either :) More later probably. I'm enjoying this :)

BTW. Did anybody know that you can get Camerabag for the desktop? I know it's not a patch on PS/LR etc, but what a quick way to apply an effect on images not taken on the phone. Camerabag for desktop
