AAAARRGGH!

I REALLY hate it when you have all these stupid electrical wires and power poles that insist on ruining perfectly good shots. I don't mind doing some cloning out, but I have my limits.

There, I'm done.

I agree. I can take really good sunsets from my house but because of all the wires I have to drive 2 miles to avoid the wires.

Visit Lorraine, Quebec.

In order to preserve the visual aesthetic of the town, it was decided to run all their electrical wiring underneath the ground :)

Who is Lorraine? Does she have all her wiring underneath?

Although, if I can't avoid them, I try and work them into the composition.

I don't know how it works in the US, but here in Canada you can pre-register all the equipment you want to bring across the border. I think they take make, model and serial numbers. You are issued an official document that can be cross-refrenced with their database. The US must have a similar system. I know I will be registering my camera equipment before going to Florida next week. You may also want to bring copies of your sales receipts, that way they can't nail you for what they may think is undeclared purchases made abroad.

I just can not point my camera in this direction for a sunset pic. Those High Tension wires just spoil the mood.

What happens if you get up early, turn around, and shoot the sunrise?

It looks like this. Sagamore Bridge and no wires.

Don't think too many underground wires in earthquake country.

I suggest you never visit Malta then. There are plenty of great photo opportunities, but with no exception some wire will always prop up within the picture. In some shots I've even counted in excess of 10 wires per shot.

Paul,I have been blessed with having some remarkable views living here on the Cape. Three interesting bridges within 6 miles, the Atlantic Ocean just a few more miles away, interesting old New England towns near. There is a wealth of photo opportunities that if I were half a real photographer I would be able to showcase some remarkable stuff. I find it interesting that my site is a representation of the place where I live and it is great to see other locals from around the world.

Is that Cape Cod? I was there for a couple of days around 1981 ... as you say it is classically picturesque. No digital cameras back then though ...

Well where I live, WE don't have but thesse above ground wiring!!!!

Yes Cape Cod Ma. The wires in the picture span the Canal and come from an electric power plant on Cape. I believe they sell power to Canada.
And as you say it is 'classically picturesque'around here. Now all I need is an imagination and photo ability. I'd have it made.
