Just PM everyone on the list asking them to create, and wear, their own nametag. Easy-Peasy.

if only it were that easy :( not only does dpc email limits you to 20 recipients, you also cannot paste in a list of usernames!

anyways, i have a downloadable pdf that will make everything a lot easier ;-)

just click this link, fill in the blanks, and click submit...and as long as adobe does its thing, everything should be fine. i'll be able to make both name tags and a call list for everyone.

just submitted (Skip, let me know if you have not received it). BTW, this is a great way of collecting information, never knew about it. How did you make it - with Adobe Acrobat?

just came through, lev!

i used word to make the document, then took it into acrobat and added the fields. when you're the 'author' of the document, acrobat walks you through a distribution wizard. the whole process is unbelievably simple. on my receiving end, when you click submit, it sends an update to a response tracking data form on my harddrive...it's freakin magic!

fwiw, acrobat is a pretty cool tool. i've used it before when i've had a document that someone wanted me to print, fill out, and fax back; i simply turn their document into an editable form, type in the necessary info, and email it back to them. now that's easy-peasy ;-)

Skip, I don't see a "submit" button. Is there a step I'm missing or do I just need to email it back, if that's what you mean?

Me neither! Maybe it's a mac compatibility thing?

the submit button should be in a band up at the top left, just above the form.

if not, i think there's an email function (i already had one emailed as they didn't have the latest version of adobe reader)

I couldn't get it to fly no way no how thru the process you had set up. I filled out the form, saved it, e-mailed it as an attachment, and it seemed to work fine.

Itinerary NYC GTG

Central Park - Friday, June 4th at around 3PM (meeting place Columbus Circle entrance to the park 59th st.)
Merchants Gate Central Park (59th Street entrance) Click "Main Monument and "Columbus Circle" to get your bearings. we'll be meeting at the Main Monument at 3 PM and will give you grace time.

Union Square - Saturday, June 5th (Greenwich Village, Walk-Around w/drinks and food in The West Village) meeting time 1:30 PM (14th Street side of the park)
Union Square, 14th Street

We will meet in that plaza (14th Street side of the park) probably by the monument or by the flying saucer like Subway entrance (depending on the activity in the area). There is no way you will miss us...just look for 25-30 photographers carrying around way too much gear...that'll be our group.

Brooklyn Bridge/DUMBO - Sunday, June 6th - 12 Noon (Manhattan into Brooklyn)-meeting at City Hall, the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge

That will be the meeting spot on Park Row, the side of City Hall at the Manhattan side entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge. Very easy to find.

Skip is putting together a list of phone number so (link posted in this thread), including mine so, post him asap, if you have any issues or problems arriving on time. We'll figure something out.

I am on the fence...it would be great to meet everyone, but I'm having trouble envisioning what we're shooting from the schedule!

What's the plan for Friday's shoot?
What are people doing Saturday morning (since we're not meeting until 1:30)
Same for Sunday I guess.

I can probably come for an overnight, but I haven't arranged overnight accommodations yet nor figured out my logistics.

Where in general are people staying? Or just all over the place? Anyone looking to share a room/costs?

Doesn't look like anyone else, also, is traveling from upstate NY, or did I miss someone?

Well, I'm just coming for Saturday for the day. I'm meeting up with a bunch of people in the morning for breakfast, then we're going to wander a bit till meetup time. But I'm coming from NJ not NY.

Central Park - Afternoon Park shooting (people, bridges, music, the lake, the Boathouse for a drinks/food, Strawberry Fields) into the golden hour where we'll head back into mid-town for a nice dinner. It will be a great social event...easy, fun, shoot, talk etc.

People will probably meet for breakfast, walk around...anywhere in NYC is a shooting opportunity. A suggestion: Walk to Union Square from Mid-Town, where almost everyone is staying passing 23rd Street and 5th Ave to shoot The Flatiron Building and the Flatiron District. I chose 1:30 because people will be driving in for the day from all points and I wanted to give them ample time to get into the city through traffic, park and find the group. Union Square into The West Village will provide for awesome Street shooting, people...crazy interesting people, musicians, city scenes etc.

We'll be shooting Downtown Manhattan, possibly a quick detour into Chinatown, the The Brooklyn Bridge into a very cool area to shoot called DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Underpass).

Try your Fisheye...

This is mostly a social event, to meet people we've known for years coming in from as far as Australia. All the locations I've chosen are target rich. They are the places I go when I want to get shots, guaranteed and a wide variety of subjects. Also the same routes I use for my Street Photography Workshops and Tours, tried and true. Hope that helps...

Are there any plans to accomodate those of us who are looking for night shots? There was some earlier chatter, but I don't recall seeing any more on it in the recent past. I'd almost prefer to shoot cities at night......especially the bridges.

I can get you there easily from Midtown...not complicated, at all. IMHO the best view of the city, second to none, real close, dead straight perspective, perched high up the the cliff of Weehawken, looking down. Killer pano potential, as well. My hands will be full but I'll get you there and back, painlessly. Roosevely Island will give you a nice shot of the 59th Street Bridge and DUMBO is incredible for both the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges.

Weehawken is on my way back to the place where my wife lives, North Bergen. Not to step outside the line, but if you are tied up that night I will be glad to show the spot to the others interested after the photoshoot.

yippeeee!!! we're up to 23!!! there's still time!

we're gonna be there all weekend. even though steve's put together a killer itinerary, there's still plenty of time for some side trips. there's also going to be plenty of people around, so even you can't make one of the main events, you can still hook up with some of us.
