I think you should warn people that you are contagious... I went into a charity shop yesterday thinking that charity shops never have desirable cameras in them, and came out with this:

Two little jewels from my past:
My first camera. Pretty good quality images for 124 Instamatic format.
And this lil' number:
Sold a Minolta SRT-202 and bought this 110Zoom SLR, for the small pkg and light weight. Unfortunately the 110 format was just too small for any serious photography. Glorified snapshot camera, despite the pretty Rokkor lens.
ETA:
The dial on the left is the f-stop setting...f4.5 > f16...makes it an aperture priority automatic. The lens is not interchangeable, but zooms 25mm - 50mm, with a pull-back-ring-and-twist-lock "macro" setting. Notice the tripod mount is on the left side instead of the bottom.
I've actually owned this camera since 1977.

Another Ansco clipper, but some detail differences with my other one. One of them was given to me as a gift and I thought they were identical until I put them next to each other.

To answer Yo_Spiff's question about the Patent Etuis I just posted - the wire frame is a viewfinder, there is a another small metal sight in the back that swings out as well that you use with it (if you look at my Recomar 33 picture, it shows the sight opened, with the wire frame in front. There's also the standard viewfinder on the top, but the wire frame finder was I believe used to aid in framing action shots, but I'm not sure about that - perhaps it was just yet another alternative to the usual viewfinder on top, with no particular per-shot purpose. |

Here's a site that may be of interest. I just e-mailed them with some info on a couple of my thrift shop finds. Junk Store Cameras Put some sunglasses on. Some interesting old cameras and info, but attractive and well organized website design is not to be found.

Surprised we haven't seen one of these yet.
A little nostalgic processing to add feel and mood to it. ;|
Found this site with a nifty little download that converts any image you drag to it into a poladroid, yes droid. You have to wait for it to appear, just like an old polaroid. lol Gave me a laugh.

Well, since you brought it up, I'll use this one today.
BTW, any idea why they called them a "land" camera? Was LAND an acronym for something?
Answered my own question with a web search...
The process, invented by Polaroid founder Edwin Land...

I have to admit, between this and the Holga/Lomo SC, I am getting a strong itch to hit every pawn and thrift shop in the area for new-to-me film cameras. |

I already did the one near here but all they have is 90's P&S cameras that are very common and not worth the crazy prices they're asking.
I'm going downtown this weekend and I hope to find some deals. With spring here and the weather warming up I'm going to keep an eye open for garage sales, you never know what you may find. |
