Just the integrity of the site, that's all. |
so lets burn the place to the ground just to stop a few immature people out of hundreds and hundreds of regular participants. At least we have our integrity. |
I think the "burning the place to the ground" aspect has already been examined, apologized for, and corrected to the best of the SC's ability. And as demonstrated above, a single vote can make a difference.

I love how some people are terrified of that idea. |

Me. I am terrified. ...but for reasons that have nothing to do with anything.
I realize one vote in one challenge can affect one placement in the results, but "unfair" or biased voting in one form or another is an unavoidable consequence of the system that is otherwise sound and fair. In the final analysis of this event, I give two thumbs up to Langdon and the SC and am happy that they have weeded out some blatant corrupters while giving benefit of the doubt to those who have plead their case and demonstrated integrity on this site over a long period of time (nothing necessarily to do with popularity). |

I agree. If you don't enforce integrity, then winning is cheapened. There are tons of sites where buddy-voting is the norm and expected. Dpc doesn't need to become another one. |

Funny thing that you would perceive that some view this as a terrifying thing... I on the other hand like to think of it as a form of enlightenment, something that initiates a form of awareness and engenders a sense of "qui vive" within the user community.
From my perspective, it is not an issue of terror, but rather one of alertness. :O)
