Poor Ben, a complete pawn. And all this just one big psychology experiment by supernatural beings.

Is Jacob dead, or not? Can he be killed?
His 'friend', is who? Obviously he can shape shift.
Who are the people with Jack's body in the crate? Who as in, what do they know and how/why?

What do you suppose the result of the H-Bomb will be?

I guess it depends on Time.
- I suppose a person can be in the same time twice at the same time? Didn't Sawyer or one of them see themselves/or same time and event anyway, when they were on the island during the original crash and then when time hopping?

Anyway, if time is linear for the Others (which it appears to be - richard remembers Locke's visits, they hid the HBomb when told to, etc)....is it linear for anyone else? The survivors joined dharma, were in the pictures of the new recruits, a picture that shows up in current time (second crash time). But it was NOT there during the first crash time AFAIK.

That implies events can be changed.

So if time is linear, and Juliette dies in 1977 as an adult, she's dead. If things resort back to a non-crash scenario, she never meets Sawyer et al, never tries to leave the island, never joins dharma and never sets off the bomb....a paradox for sure.

So if there can't be a paradox, then this a new future of some kind. So the h-bomb kills everyone and Ben nevers grows up to be evil... or perhaps the super-magnetism sucks in the H=Bomb blast and The Swan is built, the picture was destroyed in the blast...and time returns to normal...the survivors just loop through time endlessly like Groundhog Day??

No clue about the paradox and how they will get around it, but it's not Jack in the crate, it's Locke.

Sorry, a freudian slip...or perhaps I've traveled ahead to next week/season and know something you dont! LOL

Jacob is a bibilical name which could mean something since names mean things on this show. Jacob was enemies with his twin brother Esau. Could be some kind of connection. Just thinking out loud.

I'm SOOO excited. Lost is my favorite all time show. I love listening to the "official" podcasts.

Are they planning on Tues at 8 for all episodes?

I forgot to post this. My husband found a spanish promo commercial for it....pretty darn interesting how all the characters are placed on a chessboard.

Lost Final Promo (Spanish with subtitles)

I've been re-watching season 5 just to get back up to speed. There's so much going on that you forget so much! Ben as a child, farradays adventures, the whole john locke/adversary/jacob thing.

a great site for analysis and screen shots is lostpedia.com

So Lost fans what did we think about what we were given last night. I'm glad we are done with time travel for a while. More questions some answers.

Ugh. I find the whole storyline a bit chaotic and annoying. They started losing me throughout last season. This one looks like it's gonna be "anything goes" to the extreme.

Looks to me like it's going to take a Stephen King twist and become a "good vs evil/god vs devil" metaphor type thing.
02/03/2010 10:17:42 PM · #867
So I watched it the other night. Still have no clue as to what is going on...

I love it all. I'm a huge sci-fi fan & I love the direction this has taken. Truly, tv these days has plenty of shows that someone can watch if they don't like all of the complicated plots, the confusing twists and turns & the constant questions (and sometimes even answers). However, they'll miss out on the amazing characters, the brilliant writing and the creative minds of the Lost creators (and so many others).

This show keeps my mind challenged... and I love it all.

I think it is going to end as someones dream.... they wake up and it's over!

I had this idea for the producers for this final season: In about the third episode, cut right in the middle of a dramatic scene and show the last 15 minutes of a Gilligan's island rerun, then never say anything about it and then finish the season with Gilligan reruns and then act like LOST never existed and let viewers think they dreamed it. Brilliant, huh?

That doesn't ring a bell. I thought Daniel was his kid.

Daniel is Widmores child, I'm hoping for more answers not more questions :~)

Well you got the answer to the numbers....

"Jacob has a thing for numbers"

geez, I hope there's more to it than that

Okay I'm more confused. So is the island now ruled by the smoke monster? Where is Richard and the rest of the others?
