I just bought a renewal for this guy. Hoping he makes the most of it.

Of cooooooourse you should stay. Where else can you find great friends who will still love you even when everyone beats up your photos and makes you wonder if you should just give your camera away :) And where else are you going to get such creative ideas of things to take pictures of on a weekly basis?

Prob'ly just wouldn't be the same without you!

I got the boot a few months ago ... had lost my job and was freaking out, so I didn't renew ... was able to say away for 3 months without so much as looking at the site ... then it finally got to me ... missed it too much to stay away any longer ... haven't pulled the trigger on another membership yet, but will probably do so sometime soon ...

ya...but..you know all the bickering, popcorn eating, beer drinking, bird flipping (ya Slippy that's you)..."do you want any whine with that cheese stuff"...you know it goes on and on...I don't know if I can take anymore. On top of the "my stupidity in getting Dq'd" geez...but then....some of the most supportive, caring people you will find (not this site...FB....*snicker*) hmmm what ya think..stay or go...your chance to cut bait and run

Yup, dropped mine a few weeks ago. Selling everything I own due to economic problems. Put the 5d markII in my portfolio as my dream if I ever recover and get to buy a camera again. Still have the D200 but it's gonna have to go soon. I've got pics of it taken with a film camera I have and will scan them in to list it on eBay. LOL. Already sold the film camera. It's been kinda liberating selling everything. Possessions do kinda place a drag on a person. Gonna miss photography though. Internet connection probably goes next month so you won't have to put up with my crap much longer. Been nice, while it lasted.

Reading these comments makes me so thankfully to be somewhat stable at the moment. Best of luck everyone.

Waited to the last day to decide. Went ahead and continued my membership. I just ignore the whinney threads. It is easier that way. I still enjoy submitting to challenges. Motivates me to get out there and shoot during my busy life. Very therapeutic.

Wow. All these folks pulling their paid subscriptions for economic reasons is a disappointment. At least half the reason I am trying to learn the fine art of digital photography is to keep me occupied during the hours I have open due to the current recession/depression. It's a great distraction and once you have a camera it's realitivly inexpensive.
As broke as I am, I plan to scrape up the 25 or 30 bucks it takes, as soon as I can increase my personal average. I need a few more entries that are in the top 50% to justify it to myself.
In the meantime, my hopes for a better economic future goes out to you all, and it's coming from an average factory worker from MICHIGAN.
( That means I gave up hope )
I saw the writing on the wall about 5 years ago, and started working for myself then, it's not an actual living income yet, but it provides both help and hope!

well, guys I will have to tell you "I was kidding", I truly have learned so much in the past year that I couldn't possibly not re-new my membership...I have made some wonderful friends and people are so very willing to help me to learn whatever process I am wanting to learn (even though I can be a little thick headed sometimes) A year ago I hadn't ever "used" my Photoshop Element 1 (which is now updated to Elements 7) and the things that I have learned...wow...my hat is off to you amazing people that have the talent to teach "me" something. This is the cheapest class that I have ever taken which has given back to me 10 fold...

I am soooo very sorry for those that will be leaving us because of the economic climate. But bear in mind...there is the "free" membership and this is the best place to "Challenge" your skills..

I was just seeing who would say..."oh, Janine...don't leave"... ya right...reality check...thanks guys for being so very knowledgeable on many, many things in life...You are the best...

I guess I should have added that my period of unemployment was short lived ... less than 2 months ... and I'm back to work making a little bit more money than I was at my old job ... I don't love the new job like I did the old, but a paycheck is a paycheck these days! I travel a lot for work and haven't had a lot of time for photography ... once I have an image that I want to submit for a Free Study or one of the member challenges calls my name, I'll pony up my $25 again ... Like Janine said, it's the cheapest class around and my work has vastly improved from hanging out here ...
