Is there anyway to put a bit of seperation between it and the camera model/username? I've clicked a couple of times this morning on a camera or a username and almost gotten it with an errant click.
Not sure if it looks different on any other browser but I'm using FF and have the user photo add on from Smurfguy.

Just my negative two cents, but I don't like the new "Report this post as spam" message appearing under everyone's name. If technically feasible, I'd rather just click on the existing "Report Post" button, and then be given options of reporting:
(a) offensive, (b) spam, (c) other
... or something like that.

Yeah, I've been holding off on saying anything... But it'd look far cleaner to have a 'spam' button on the top right of the post, next to the 'report post' and 'quote' buttons. |

Agree - I'd much rather have it over on the right side with the "Report this post" button. Not much liking it under the names. |

I wasn't going to say anything either, but now I'm all caught up in the mob mentality, so yeah, it should be moved. |

No, you can't. Using the forums to promote something is considered spam. |

And yes the Spam challenge was inspired by all the recent spam we've been seeing. Hopefully it receives more than 10 entries. ;) |
No, it won't cos they will all be reported as Spam and as such will be removed from the site immediately!! |

I'm more annoyed with the Report this post as spam button than with actual spam. |

Just a quickie - when clicking the "Report this post as spam" button - there is a typo in there "Are you sure you want to repot this post as spam?"

Awwwwww.... I missed the party :(
I propose a new 'alert' feature which emails all members when there's a spam reporting frenzy happening.

It's important to repot posts once in a while. Of course, ideally, you want to transfer them to the wild.

Just a reminder, that since Langdon added a link/button to "Report this post as spam (see below) almost two years ago, users are obligated to use that button, and to not call-out, voice suspicions of, accuse, bait, make fun of, or otherwise respond to a post they suspect of being SPAM by posting themselves in the thread.
Experience has shown that such user suspicions are not always well-founded, and such responses definitely present an unwelcoming face to any legitimate new user who makes an unfortunately-worded post.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Originally posted by langdon (06/28/2009 09:34:30 PM): Despite our best efforts, spam has become a regular occurrence here in the forums of DPC. We are trying a few different things to stifle future spam posts and have implemented a number of features to prevent it. However, there is unfortunately nothing that's going to completely stop real people from signing up, confirming their email address, and posting some garbage that none of us want to see.
I just wanted to make a quick announcement to explain a new feature that will let you guys help us fight the good fight and participate in the war against spam. On the bottom left of each post, you will see a link to "Report this post as spam". This will serve as a quicker method of purging spam from our forums.
I wanted to make this specific announcement to also ask that you please use this feature diligently. Since posts/threads will automatically be hidden at a certain threshold, this puts the power to hide content in the hands of our users. The use of this feature will be monitored, so please use it only as necessary.
Thanks,
Langdon |
