Can I play?
Thanks to the long shot horse "Mine the Bird", I was able to talk myself into purchasing Topaz, a lensbaby, and a puppy. As I wait for the lensbaby and pick up poop, I plan to be playing around with Topaz. Here's my first run through with an old pic.

hi bunny - we are all working together in this side challenge to see what we can do with the software. I think there have been a lot of closet users who are all coming out now lol. If you are thinking about it, do the free trial first to see what you think. Check out the photos in this thread too :) |

excuse me - i am not spammer.
my college professor writes the digitalapplejuice blog and he wrote the tutorial. i am not a professional photographer but a freelance graphic artist who wants to shoot photos for my own food blog (See shoestringfoodie.com).
Did you bother to follow the link? Is it a link affiliate?
i wondered what other non-pros thought and ended up here. click the link and see where it takes you.
that was rude Bear_Music.

Thanks bear... Too bad my hair appointment was for today! (24 hours after that picture was taken). I'm really glad you didn't use some of the other Topaz adjustments you showed me!
ETA: And thanks for introducing me to Topaz.

I've had Topaz for a while now, but I've had trouble getting good results from it on "any old image". Anyway, I picked an image series I thought it might do well on...or at least one I'd have some fun with!
Roozilla Attacks!
and that last one, then processed through SilverEffex...

I noticed in editing notes that, like myself, a lot of PaintShop Pro users are still applying a dose of clarify even with Topaz available. I figured I would be able to duplicate the effect within Topaz, but it's not that easy. Maybe clarify still does something a little differently. |

My challenge today was to find a shot that TA - Detailed would work on.
I find "Detailed" can be pretty harsh and grainy but seems to work well on shots like this shot.
It was morning sun which gave it a warm feel and the colors all so similar that the shot was flat and lifeless.

But, why me? Anyone else getting error messages in topaz adjust?
Trying to use the Spice preset on this and after adjustments I said okay, and then received error message:
ProcEngine Error Code 1000
And then it closed the program down. When I have time, I'll toddle off to Customer Service and find out what went wrong.
Meanwhile, any ideas? |
PS my next choice "Crisp" for this image worked just fine, but the "Spice" would simply not work after one or two more tries.
