I appreciate all the comments that I am getting but I think there is still a lot of confusion about "abstract." I have one comment that says "definitely abstract" and another that says this is not abstract at all. So still confused about what was wanted here.... |

You'll always be confused, unfortunately. Try your best to meet your own expectations. |

Yea I'm being careful about leaving the comment that I don't think it's abstract at all. My definition of abstract was what I learned in art school. And this WEBSITE, shows some good examples of what I think to be abstract, especially Joan Mitchell's work. However, it's art and it's all open to interpretation. |

I don't believe you have to avoid leaving such comments. Just stress that it's your own opinion. That's all I do.
I don't feel that...
I don't see...
I am of the opinion...
etc. |

You have rated 226 of 227 images (100%) in this challenge
and other times it will say
You have rated 226 of 227 images (99%) in this challenge
your not allowed to vote on your own??/Why the difference? |

The voting on the abstract motion challenge is the strangest I've seen (though I haven't been here long.) Within the first 6 votes, I got: 5,8,9,6,1,2. No one can decide whether their photos are too abstract or not abstract enough, so we need your help!
I hereby challenge everyone to comment on all entries. Commenting on 100% in this challenge will get you, not only Judi's treasured 100% award, but a special, one time only, abstract 100% award!
anyone up for it?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. 4.9581
And many of the commenter’s abstract concept of “abstract” seems abstract.
Did the challenge state that if anything in the image is recognizable, it is not abstract?

Hmmmmmmm. I just voted. My fuzzy concept of abstract isn’t blurry now. |

No, the challenge didn't state that, but abstract = shapes and patterns and not a realistic likeness, says a definition on Google. So if there is something quite recognizable realistic in a photo, it isn't a total abstract in my opinion. You don't see any realistic likeness in a Karel Appel, only shapes and patterns. |

The challenge didn't say that it needed to be a total abstract, so I didn't mind partially realistic things. I wanted it to be, overall, abstract, however. |

I have a feeling I'm not going to complete this challenge. I'm 83 comments in and burnt out. I'll get myself to 50%, but I think that's about as far as I can go.
Oh well, that's 114 comments that weren't there to begin with. |

I lean more towards this definition and my comments reflected that, but I also didn't vote so no worries there. |

and the lesson to learn from this.....don't enter a non-abstract image into a abstract challenge :) |
