So I shot for the language but not sure it will work. Basic editing is killing me this time but I am trying to pull one out. If not I will do the abstract motion.
I have one in the Free Study but I am not sure I will keep it there.
Rock Song Title (Great. Another free study or a bunch of shoehorned entries) Im not sure about yet. I am waiting for the next set of opens before I can make any decision on what to enter for next week.

I am struggling to. I did a whole shoot yesterday for the language and I hate all of the pictures I took. hahahah. It was my own fault really. I had my ISO up to high from another shoot which I didnt notice until I was more then half way done and just some other stupid things. So now I will be in abstract motion. If it wasnt for the DPCO I wouldnt even be in that at this point. hahah.
I am not sure I will be staying in the free study and I am really NOT liking the Rock and Roll just as you thought. hahah. Its just another free study. I am looking forward to the opens on Wednesday.
I think after these side challenges are over and the Olympics I will enter more challenges but right now I am going for high scores for my team and the h2h so I have to up my game and be careful to choose the right battles!
ETA: In voting right now I have the "Remember Those" which is in the mid 6s for a score.

Limerick, did you get something in this week? (please say no....) My dpco team needed a 6th entry so I tried a couple different things tonight and they both sucked! I entered the lesser of the two evils and it will be lucky to stay above 5! (I actually like the shot, but I know it is not dpc friendly)
And finally....next week's open challenges are something we can both get into! Bring it on! |

Oh and the new opens? I just shot 500 pictures of "fauna" at the zoo this "past" Saturday. Eccchhh again.

My first idea was Indians. There is this perfect park that has a teepee and all but none of us could afford the costumes I needed. My models are Russian to and werent really understanding the concept. So I mentioned to them doing Mimes and they were excited but I told them that the make up had to be spot on because of the editing rules. They came down and we spent the whole darn day at the park shooting different things but the make up was getting marked up. One type of make up was getting hard and caking and cracking and the other was to creamy and kept melting and getting marked up. They dressed nice tho and if I could have used advanced editing I would have pulled one out. The basic editing killed me so I shot for the abstract at the last minute. About 7 hours before deadline I tried a few things and I liked one but the voters dont like it much.
After all of this trying to make a good score for the h2h and getting them only to find out basssman7 isnt in. Now that he is in I had to throw in a picture and will probably lose a point. Ticks me off. I am seriously thinking of not entering anything for the rest of this month and letting my average be the deciding factor. hahah. (but dont tell basssman7. shhhhhh.)

So I quickly came up with another plan and I am now in abstract with a shot I took at 2 hours before deadline.

Im to freaking embarrassed to say yet. I am waiting till it at least hits a 5 first. (oooops did I just let the cat out of the bag? hahaha)
I dont care who I face in the next round. I just want to get to the next round. hahah. But I am pretty amazed I lasted this long to so whatever. hahah.
ETA: I just noticed I went from 6th place to 4th place in the h2h averages. At least I can be proud of that much with all of the talent here.

Just one h2h to tell you about from Illuminative/Remember Those, and that is that Alain beat JulietNN, taking the match 2-0. Sincere commiserations to JulietNN, it's harsh to lose with a DQ, especially on such a nice shot :-(
This makes Alain our first quarter-finalist, where he will play either mpeters or jasonlprice.

8. That makes 16 people in round 3 and from there it's a straight knockout. Round 4 will consist of the winners of the 8 matches in round 3, round 5 will consists of the 4 winners in round 4 and so on.
In round one you said it is determined by the average of "that" round if two challenges were not entered by the opponents.
In round two you said it is determined by the average starting from round one if two challenges were not entered by the opponents.
For round 3 it just says its a straight knock out. Does that mean you only need one point and its over? If you need two still then can you tell me when round three ends for basssman7 and I. Is it at the end of March or not? I am not sure when we started.
basssman7 maybe you can help me out here to. Im a little confused.
I am under the idea that you still need two points for each round. If that is wrong then I would have played my game differently but by "straight knockout" I took it to mean you still need two points but that the averages wont count any more for high average players to come back. Not to mean that one point is all you need to win the round.
If I understood that wrong then I may have just cost myself the tournament with this horrendous abstract challenge and that would be a huge bummer afer all of my top ten or top fifteen finishes this month that both of us didnt enter. Because if basssman7 and I are ending our face off at the end of March and he takes the point for abstract then the last point will be based on his average (from round one?) instead of on my average for the month if averages even count at all this time. Neither basssman7 or myself want to win or lose based on averages so I need a little clarification here as to what is happening for this round for points needed. Maybe it wont matter if the month for us closes on the 1st anyway because he will have one point and I will not because he never entered the challenges I did but scored very high on. echhhhh. Now I am probably confusing everyone to. hahaha.
