I'm working on a project where I need 24x36 prints from my digital images. Any ideas where I can get this done?

John, I'll give my local printer a plug:
//www.allieddigitalphoto.com/
They really know what they are doing, you can upload directly to them, and my experience with them has been great. they can make prints as large as 44 x 60.

Now that Kinkos is owned by FedEx, at least the shipping should be good! |

I could tell you a FedEx stroy form this week that would make you cry. The short of it is, FedEx Home Delivery is a PITA.

For most is seems it's a matter of location. Some say UPS sucks in their area, others say FedEx is crap. However, I live in one of those rare areas where all delivery services suck. 3 day delivery runs generally 5-9 days. Even USPS can't seem to get me a letter inside of a week. Doesn't matter if it's the same state or another country. Anything sent to me is guaranteed to be late. |

Just earlier this week I ordered a 24x36 from Club Photo.
//www.clubphoto.com/
The site is run by Polaroid, but they print on Kodak paper. The print hasn't come yet so I can't tell you how it turned out yet, but I've gotten 8x10s from them before and was completely satisfied. Just one more option for you, and I can tell you how my print turned out later this week.

Ritz camera can do prints that large, just has to be sent to the outlab in Georgia and takes about 2 to 3 weeks to be done. I can't remember the price for it but I do know that a 16 x 20 canvas print is $44, ink jet prints were less expensive. |

Setz,
Sams Club's online photo center has 24x36 prints for 20.47. You can have them shipped to your local sams club for pick up (no shipping charge) or to your house if you want to pay shipping.
I don't know if you have to have a sam's membership or not in order to use the photocenter.

If you don't have a Sam's Membership, Wal-Mart.com offers the same service from their site. They will do up to 36"x48". Done on the Fuji too.

An interesting difference between the two sites is that Sam's club limits each photo's file size to 2MB, while Wal-Mart allows a 4MB file. I would have thought that these would be processed in the same way, what with having the same parent company.

A&I Photoin Los Angeles will print large (up to 48"x120") sizes on either their Iris or Lightjet printer. They serve many of the pros in LA and are one of the best labs for anything photographic in the world.

Check out this service in MN. They price by the square foot, any size up to 40x60 inches, and don't rip you off on S&H.
Big Photo Help If you don't like your print they will reprint it for you or offer a refund.

Harvey,
Have you had any firsthand experience with ordering 24x36 or larger prints from this company? I stumbled over this site a while back and am very interested, but was hoping to get some customer word-of-mouth feedback on them first before placing an order.
I did see that you can order a free sample, and I went ahead and did so: //www.bigphotohelp.com/cgi-bin/freesample.pl
But I would still love to hear from anyone with first-hand experience from this site.
Thanks!

FedEx has never delivered anything here on time, and most the time they deliver stuff of ours to people down the road.
I know the UPS guy by name, and if no one is home he'll even open the door and put packages inside on the table. Once when the door was locked (which is odd around here), he took a package to where my roomate works and gave it to him.
So it's easy for me to recommend one of them in this area. Although when I was at college I watched a UPS guy throw a package from the street over a fence onto our second floor apartment entry. Luckily he got the address wrong and it wasn't even out package.

If you use Kinko's, find one that is running a HP5500 and make sure they have the proper "software profile" for the paper they are using (it makes a huge difference). They can be ordered online and shipped to your place, the price is more like $12.00 per sq. foot on HP photo paper (24x36=6 ft) plus shipping charges. Upside is no limitations on file size and if you get a good branch you will be happy with the results. |

John, I have access to a large format printer where I work. That is part of what I do for my job. It isn't a cheap process, but the printer is great (epson) and the rusults are very good. YOur work is so nice, it deserves a great print, and the results blown up from your 10D are great. If I can help you..you can email or send me a disc. pm me and I will fill you in on any details |

//www.calypsoinc.com/
and
//www.westcoastimaging.com/
will both do prints online, way beyond the size of 24x36 (30x40 or 30x50 and beyond) Prices vary depending on quality, quality of service and how much you want to do yourself.
price is around $50 per image. |

john, i use my local guys--image monster for all my bigger/bulk stuff. their quality is fantastic and the steve, their designer, is a genius. i recently had a couple of 24x36 prints done (that i had actually taken with the G2) on this great luster paper, and the quality was awesome. 'bout 50 bucks per print. highly recommended. |
