| I have my scores turned off. I know I wont be happy with the score and I dont want that to ruin the fact that I love the photo. But man the comments are flowing. Im so happy about that. |

I'm not usually one to complain about my scores but I gotta say I'm very disappointed in my score... I considered my shot to be one of my best and favorite shots but that just goes to show I don't know squat :(

Went up almost half a point while I slept, so I am not unhappy. Was kinda hoping to get back into the 6 range with this challenge but if it doesn't happen it doesn't :) |

You know what you like for yourself, and that's more than many people can say. 5.9 is a kick ass score in a challenge like this. You don't have some meaningless eye candy, and you don't have something truly unforgettable to the masses, so take some comfort!
This challenge, for me, was never about the score (although I am happy with my own 5.8) but about really trying to connect to some people and offer something I truly think exemplifies my own love of photography. Something that I would be happy to capture every single day.
That is what I've put forth, and score be damned, because I know what I want from myself. |

Not at all. It goes to show that you have a much more refined taste then some voters that spend 15 seconds per image on voting. (note that I said some. there are also some voters are very smart and take the time to absorb the ambiance of the photo, others just look for eye candy)
Although we all would prefer to get high votes and be recognized by our peers, at the end of the day it is how you feel about your photo that counts, especially if it is displayed as a nice large canvas on your wall. (regardless of how it did on dpc) |

I think they can knock another name off that list of potential ribbon winners Shannon! I'll be lucky to finish in the top 300-400 as well! :-)
The comments are great though! I'd much prefer to have a lower score and more comments. People are really taking time to give their individual impressions - which is wonderful! Thank you!

Yea, I did the same thing as K10Dguy -- put in one of images that pleased me, felt natural for me to take, and still works for me. Scores in this challenge are purely for entertainment value.

Normally, around this vote count the scores are settling in near where they will finish (Feb FS had vote totals of ~150ish after a week), but at this rate, assuming we will top 500-600 votes, stabilizing might not be till 200-300 votes (and if we hit 1000 votes, today's scores could still be in the 10% early noise :-) |

I've been rudely interrupted from commenting right now because my internet has decided to go tails up on me intermittently. It's like I'm on dial-up right now, so I'm waiting for it to recover.
However, I'm commenting consecutively, so this time, even un-me-commentable images will get a comment. Just depends on if you come for me before the end of the voting/commenting period is over, and how many I get to in that time. So you have a better chance than usual! hehe. |
