I think you should be spending more time taking that fab shot, and less time on here....you will need it if you want to beat my Gem image! ;) hehehe |
Have no fear. My shoot is completely all set for Sunday. I have time to wallow in my Gem shot and how great its going to be before I even do it and even had time to do some stuff today to make it even better! You are going down!! |

Actually Judi you just gave me an idea for a future challenge. The only other regular I see when I go to see the wolves each time is a really nice Native Indian man that wears some traditional clothing and lives 100% off the grid in a cabin somewhere. I should see if I can visit and take some photos some time for an upcoming challenge if we get one that would fit that. He is a very nice man that has a true love for those wolves.

Results from the FS:
Judi beat Hot_Pixel, score 1-0.
Alain beat Quigley, and takes the match.
tpbremer beat karmat, score 1-0.
JaimeVinas beat Ecce Signum, score 1-0.
LydiaToo beat mpeters, and takes the match.
JulietNN beat andrewt, and takes the match.
dainmcgowan beat hajeka, score 1-1.
toddhead beat goinskiing, and takes the match.
We have our 2nd round 3 match in progress from today, between JulietNNand Alain. 100 years old will be the first challenge to count in this match.
While I think about it, I've noticed that, as the month ends on a Tuesday, then March's FS will end submission and therefore voting simultaneously with a pair of open challenges. When we get that far, just so that everyone knows, I will treat them as separate challenges but I will score the open challenges first and then the FS. So, if you happen to be in either of those open challenges and in the FS as well, and your opponent is in both too, then I'll score one or other of you for the open challenges first before we even look at the FS. If either you or your opponent gets to 2 points based on the that open challenge, then your match will obviously end there and then and the FS score won't be taken into account. I thought I'd make that decision now well ahead of time so as not to favour anybody.
Also, some of you may remember my camera died on me and has been in the process of being repaired (one month ago yesterday) this has obviously meant I've not been able to participate in round 2 (although I can and will enter the Hidden Gem challenge) At the time I set up an alternate round 2 match between my round 2 opponent JaimeVinas and Ecce Signum. That is now officially the real round 2 match (see score above) and I'm going to have to pull myself out of the tournament as a player :-(. I'm obviously going to carry on organising it, updating scores and such like.
I hopefully should have my camera back some point in the next week, but there have been a few broken promises on Jessops' part as to timescales and such, so we'll see.
If anyone has any questions, fire away :-)

SoulMan1978 since the FS winners were just announced this morning and the 100 years old and Hidden Gem were announced before the FS wins dont they have to wait for the next set of challenges to be announced before they can compete in round 3?
Im just wondering because when Basssman7 won his second point in his round 2 with the Action Challenge the Light on White and skin/self portrait were already announced so I had to wait till the next set of challenges (100 years old and Hidden Gem) to begin round 3 with him.

Alain, congratulations on your victory over me. I wish I could have been more stiff composition for you but I just didn't have the photographic chops this time.
You will have your hands full with Juliet. Best of luck with her but I have to tell you, I'm on the Juliet CHEER TEAM and I'm doing a rain dance now, so good luck weathering the storm of
photographic images this powerful photographer is going to be pouring down on you.
Great fun and all the best to everyone who is left in the competition.
A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO YOU SoulMan1978 I HAD A FANTASTIC TIME.
All the best to you and yours.
MAX!

The rule of thumb I'd been applying is the match starts as soon as both players are confirmed and, at that point, any challenges that haven't started voting by that point will count. So for you and Bass and Alain and Juliet the first challenge that will count is the first one that starts voting after your respective matches began on Wednesday and today, which in both cases is 100 years old.
Apologies if that wasn't clear. I originally had it so we would only count matches that are announced after your match starts, but somewhere in the 30+ pages of posting in this thread I announced I'd changed it to make the tournament run more quickly. We were still in round 1 at that point but I forget when that was. |

Dain, I'm in for the 1000th (I like it, but not sure if it will score). Light on White IV is going reasonable, but not great (as expected). I've an idea for the 100 years, but only 4 hours left, so not sure yet. |

Judi,
First and foremost I would like to congratulate you on your ribbon in the free study. It was a beautiful photo. I loved the tonality throughout the whole photo.
Also, I am letting you know I will be in the 1000th challenge. Can not wait to see what your entry is.

Thanks SoulMan1978 for your answer!
Basssman7 I am in Gem. I am still deciding between two but I still dont think it will gain a point over yours. I ended up with bad weather and so many other things that went wrong. Then I lost my glasses on the shoot so editing has been a challenge in itself. The good thing is either one I enter I will like and that is what really matters so good luck! :=)

OK, so no head-to-heads came out of Light-on-White but there is a little change around in the tournament averages rankings, for them that follow that sort of thing.
