Are posts reversed for anybody else without clicking the "reverse order" button on preferences?
Suddenly the newest posts in a thread are at the top instead of the bottom where I normally have them. |

That happens to me sometimes when I've searched Google for a thread and the link automagically changes the post order for me. Just click "reverse order" again and all will be right. |

You're *always* downside up, doc, and usually swimming for your life...

I always have the newest post at the top - saves having to scroll down when I am following a thread. |

yeah, i always have the newest at top too.. It seems much more logical that way :)
Backwards is the new forwards..
ie, blogs, twitter, email, ... and forums.

it always seems a pity that you can't 'view all pages at one' much like with the challenge entries.
That way if you were looking for a particular reference or contributer you could use the search function. |

We're a majority in THIS thread anyway. And apparently doc has drowned....

Um, if the only reason is so you don't have to scroll to find new posts - use the little arrow next to the subject title. It'll take you straight to the latest unread post. |

Some of us (lots of us?) are just USED to "newest-on-top", which is, after all, the default for many forum setups. It just seems to make more sense. So we *like* it that way, arrow or no arrow :-)

I don't think it makes more sense. ;) That means if you miss 7-10 posts on an active thread you have to go down to find the newest and then start reading up. Likewise, very long posts have to be scrolled down and then you go up to the next post. It's less efficient. I prefer to read the thread like one read's a book or long scroll. ;)
BTW, the answer was searching a google thread out, don't know why it flipped me, but it did. I'm back to the correct orientation now. :) |
