We don't "nominate" in here, it's a thread where individuals create theirown awards and then pass them out as they see fit. Go ahead and make your own little GIFs and have at it :-)

If I gave out awards, it would get the highest one from me, that's for sure. It's about 400,000 times above anything else in the challenge, in creativity, presentation, and emotion.

Actually, I think starting with this image, I'm going to start a new thing.

K10D's Komment of the Week. Awarded to my favorite image from all three challenges during each week, a K10DGuy comment.

Now, I just need a .gif. Any artists out there want to help me out with that?

Thanks. I appreciate it. I suppose this means I should abandon all hope of my work being accepted by the DPC masses, though (not that that's a bad thing). lol

Hmmm. I'm thinking of a Col Klink headshot with a "Herr Kommendandt" title :-)

It's pretty much a given that abstracts tend to do poorly in a non-abstract challenge. You already know that I liked your entry, though.

I struggled to find words for a comment on your image. But I really liked it.

Yah. I went in there knowing it was gonna be an Origami challenge. I bought a ton of post-its and did a lot of folding, but my heart wasn't in it. On the other hand, I *loved" my entry (still do for that matter)...

It's clean, sharp, strikingly well lit, and original in concept, and it barely finished above the middle of the pack... I'm not complaining (not much anyway), I'm just saying... That's pretty much an absolutely straight-from-camera image, btw...

Well, it got a 6 from me, but I thought it would have benefited greatly by a square crop. The length of the portrait crop diverted my attention from the geometry of the post-it notes, and turned it into more of a photograph of the vertical blinds.

As for the 'origami', man, I couldn't agree more. Most of the origami shots got a static 6 from me. My standard "yah, ok, this fits, but man I'm seeing way too much of these" score.

Thinking back on it now, I should have bumped yours up to a 7. My bad.

I tried the square crop actually, but it wasn't working for me. What I liked was the playing off of the fairly ethereal verticality of the composition against the square reality of the notes.

Or something like that :-)
