Oooo why couldnt the DPCO start out with something better then gas stations. :=(

Not many gas stations around here, but it has been awhile since I've entered a challenge and this sounds more interesting to me than tilted landscapes (or tilted anything for that matter).

Yes, by the rules. Technically you can take a picture of anything that that may have been to a Gas Station. Stand-by for a lot of shoehorned entries with convoluted titles.

| I like this one. I think it'd be more interesting if it was advanced editing. Do you think an old gas station building without pumps would still qualify, or is that DNMC? |

"Anything you would see at a gas station": plenty of things you can shoot of a station that don't include pumps, like the service bay, whatever. You can work around it if it's otherwise interesting enough.
It's REALLY a pity this isn't advanced editing, because this is a topic that loves HDR and partial desat and techniques like that.

We have some wonderful old run down service stations here in Texas. I wonder how my wife will feel about roaming the farm roads and small towns on valentine's day?

That's the problem that I see with this challenge--I predict that the winners will all be old gas stations--I don't think a new station could begin to compete, because the old ones are so wonderful. I'm not sure where to find old ones around here.
I'm really hoping that some people will have some spectacular shots from new stations, so I can see what I could have done. I'm having a real dearth of ideas on this one!
