Also, there are plenty of images better than mine - I'm sure their creators just choose to not post their scores.

Well I sat at a 5.8 for a long time, even got pretty close to a 5.9 ... and now this! Voters are not in a good mood today!

| I have an idea for a challenge! It's called "Make up your own rules". Take a picture and voters make up there own rules to enforce upon the entry. The description won't disallow anything. The pictures composition, relevance, and quality are unimportant. Enforcement of self-inflicted rules will trump all else. What fun would that be! This is supposed to be fun, right? But seriously, I started this challenge at 6.8-6.9 for a couple dozen votes, so I think it's an OK shot, but have slowly drifted down to 5.8. Never seen such a swing in my score. I have a grey subject that I desated because I thought it was even better that way. With advanced editing and few specifics in the description, I think voters are being pretty narrow minded on this. All this could be avoided by having more clearly defined criteria, but voters punishing people for unseen rules is unfair. |

I just stopped by and quickly read to see if I was of the same mindset that this was supposed to be a naturally occuring gray - not a converted file to black and white or any other means..... I'll be interested to see how this turns out. Some good photos that appear not to be matching the intent of the challenge. |

After looking at the other photos I find a few that really stand out. One of them is a desat.
Mine (in color) is definitely in the middling to average group.

I'm so shocked tonight .. my score until today was pretty much a 5.8 and stayed that way most of the week, until today. I shot mine in color, did not desat anything .. but my score tonight made my jaw drop!

I think  raish is the man with the widely used brown ribbon...yep, found it. I'm sure you can use it too, but you might want to send him a note just to be polite.
