Thanks for noticing Jeffrey! And thanks everyone else for the cheers. I never actually said anything to anyone lol. I was very thrilled and surprised to see that I had won. Now if I could get them to send me my prize lol. I won something last year and they never sent it. So I sent an email this time and have not heard back. But the nod is pretty cool :)

I should mention to all, that thanks to Jeffrey I found this site. And Jeffrey too is a multi-time winner, I think Julianne, JuliBoc, is too. I guess I'll have to keep checking to see how many more of us win there :)

I've bugged Cliff from trustedreviews relentlessly. Got a couple of memory cards yesterday from April's contest. Still waiting for the camera I supposedly won in November ... Oh, well, it's more for the fun of it than the prizes, anyway.

Mac or Windows based? I don't know with Mac, but in windows, right click on your "computer" icon on your desktop (or in the start menu), and click "properties". It should tell you in the window that pops up.

On the Mac, go to the Apple menu in the upper left and choose "About this Mac"

In XP it's right on the right side. In Vista it's half-way down

1GB of RAM (I'm assuming), should be plenty for pretty much anything normal people can run. You probably have some kind of program running that is leaking it or something.

Photoshop can cause some memory issues if left open for a long time. It's best to open it, use it, then close it down again. If you're using Vista with 1GB of memory, then yah, photoshop can really be a problem.

Other things that could be a problem are that the RAM is getting old, the motherboard could be getting old, your install of windows could be getting over-run and bulked out, or other similar issues. If you get low memory warnings, just do what all people do and reboot :)

It also depends what PS you're running.

I'm running CS2 with 1GB RAM, and it labors.

I have to make sure I'm not doing four things at once or it'll lock up on me.

I was running it with 512MB, and it was REALLY slow and when I had CS2 open, it was the ONLY thing I could use.
