I think his original pressing of 300 discs (c. 1953) was to a 10" LP (33-1/3 RPM) -- I don't that many songs would fit on a 78.

(stored down cellar with about 3 feet of other LPs...)

That's his second album -- the first was simply called Songs by Tom Lehrer and featured a red flame-like motif, with Tom as a piano-playing Devil ... this re-release compilation is based on the original art from 1953.

Yes, that cover looks familiar too. I didn't fish around much once I found the LP I was looking for. It's COLD down there.
