Am loving this challenge, all my pressure is on the FSM so this was a bit of fun. The only commenter to say its not their cup of tea is DrAchoo (your 5 vote and comment was well received Jason).

I've seen this happen several times before and it doesn't make much sense. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if there are several above hers without any favs. Sometimes I think a large number of the voters are just robots who just vote on habit. Well it looks like something that has won before so it must be good... |

Or it could be that people really like what they already really like and don't like change/new things.
Or the new things aren't that good, just because they are new :)
I think the other reason is for someone to actually 'fav' something it has to maybe inspire some emotional connection in them - which no doubt means other people might like it less. The stuff that often gets lots of high marks and few detractors are obviously good with maybe less of the secret sauce that really pushes them over the edge to greatness, so that people might form a strong opinion one way or the other. |
Wait a minute. This from the guy who has a photo of a paintbrush with almost 400 favorites? I know, I know, I almost cried when I saw it too, but I imagine most of the people if not all of them faved it because they thought it was a cool concept and executed very well. I don't think this particular reason for faving a photo is all that uncommon either.

True - but it's also a good example of why bland images score high. Nobody is likely to take offense at it either. It's an odd picture and score in quite a lot of ways, I wouldn't take it as too representative for images in the 6+ area getting favs or not. I have plenty of images that are sub 5 with favs too. Almost all those favs came after the challenge closed - it's a different thing)

Well assuming yours doesn't fit the profile there's still plenty of time to pick up that fav. :P |

Ok, I'm happy now. Over my average, which has been rare lately, and a fave, which has been even rarer. Despite nearly every comment accurately describing the problems with it, and a few guessing why they exist. :)

If that is real then that is impressive.(Im not suggesting you are not posting an honest score/fav here at all)
I am not sure I remember a pic getting so many during voting, well done.

I just checked my 3 highest faved photos and none of them picked up more than 6 faves during voting
I must have done something right this time :)

Looks like I'm in brownie land when I see all the high scores in this challenge... but I didn't expect more than a 5 on this shot so I'm satisfied :) The voters are being waaaay too nice to me!

Yes, I got some critique from Dr Achoo. I wouldn't call it criticizing, because his comments were totally true. :) Avoiding the mistakes is first about recognising them, so it's good to get feedback.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

Wow - I just finished voting (not nearly qualified to participate) & wanted to let you guys know how very impressive all the images are. It was wonderful to step through the images, and I loved almost every one. I was particularly pleased to see the many great OOB shots, as well as the classics done well. I hope dpchallenge does this sort of thing regularly! |

Judging by the comments, this should be scoring over 7.

Hey, doc, you gave me a 6, so I guess you'll be going back to change that to a 3? |
