Side Challenges have got to be a good way forward, no worrying about your score but as much cc as you need :) |

And what's wrong with that? Two photos, 300, as long as you're getting something out of it, the quantity doesn't matter in the least.
I'll tell you what won't help you though, continuing negativity.
Also, I'd get that bi-polarity checked out Little Miss Red-Bull ;)

I'm with you, except for the drop from 6.4 to 6.0 - don't think I ever got that high. I've come to believe (yes, this place has done that for me) that I do indeed suck by comparison. My problem is what to do with the photographs I take? I like to share them, but this doesn't seem to be the right medium... |

I am feeling the same way, but will enter a few more to see if the trend continues. This challenge has a weird quality about it like there is a negative mindset that has taken over the site. I hope the fun comes back. When I first joined there was a lighter feel to the whole site. Maybe it's the economy bringing out the poopyheads?
I like the idea of side challenges...
How about a "Make me laugh" side challenge. The photo doesn't have to be great, just makes us laugh? |

What I see is a catch 22. People whine about scores in score threads, people get annoyed with the whining, people start scoring lower out of annoyance, people start whining more, people get more annoyed...
The negative mindset isn't just the voters. I also feel that there's far, far too much "I have to enter this challenge!!" going on.
Over-saturation. Entering for the sake of entering. Too much personal attachment. A lack of personal responsibility (ie. it's all the voter's fault). The inability to be subjective. The quickness of people to become personally offended. So, so many other things.
Only one way to change a mindset, change your own mindset, and set an example. |

whats wrong with being emotionally connected to your photo? it is your photo, its part of the photographer. if you dont love your photo(and hence have at least a bit of connection with it) whats the point of displaying it to anyone? |
