There's a website on the net called Beedogs which is an entire site dedicated to people dressing up their pooches as bumblebees, there's a whole community of beedog lovers. Had to see it to believe it.

I don't really approve of trick or treating, or 'guising' as we call it here. Sending your kids to strangers houses asking for money and sweets might've been innocent once upon a time but these days, no way. Far too many weirdos.

I shall be enjoying a quiet Wiccan Samhain celebration all by myself. :)

The more we stop doing innocent, wonderful things, the more the paranoia and doomsaying wins. All you have to do is take a few more precautions, that probably should have always been taken in the first place. We should refuse to become a society of scared, paranoid people unwilling to do anything out of a hyper-charged sense of false protection.

Guy, I couldn't agree more :)

Sheila, your pumpkins are scary and freaky! :-)

I am sick with a headcold so I am celebrating by turning off all outside lights, locking front door, and watching the latest Indiana jones flick on DVD.

Oh and just saw a rather disturbing commercial featuring Avril Lavigne and a Canon Rebel XTI...mama don't let your babies grow up to be Canon users! :-)

Bumpy cuz I'm having fun with this and getting antsy waiting for it to get dark enough to light stuff, and for the first kids to come! :)

Didn't have any kiddies as I'm out in the middle of nowhere in a darkened house. just finished watching the Crystal Skull movie. Gawwwwwddd...I feel so sorry for Harrison Ford, he really must've needed the money...BADLY!

Sheila, be sure to post those after-dark pix...and you sure seem to have a lot of time on your hands for carving pumpkins! :-)

I've had a fairly relaxing night with no kids pounding on the door, I'm now settled down to watch an NCIS season 2 marathon. :)

A few crappy night shots, because I was too lazy to dig out the tripod. Didn't have very many kids, only about 25, and all but 3 were teenage boys. We only had ONE preteen!

Lol, we were giving out small containers of Play-Doh and suckers. Hubby figured only little kids would like that but the teens were all, "SWEET! Play-Doh! Who doesn't love Play-Doh?!" One didn't want suckers, just Play-Doh.

Okay, I gotta build me a guillotine for next year. That looks too cool :D

Sigh... we live on a cul-de-sac midway down a hill, so nobody bothers walking to get to us, dammit.

I dig the guillotine ace! Did you make it?
11/01/2008 12:03:41 AM · #48
Yep...made the coffin, broken down fence & gate way too. I just remember I didn't board up the windows this year..dang it. It's priceless seeing these little guys come up so tentively. I have a storm window door that half the window and screen comes down, when they come up they think I'm behind the glass so when I reach out to give them candy it scares the crap out of them. I̢۪m real careful of the real little ones, I'll take off my mask so they'll come up all the way...Lol. Just a big Kid I guess.

Ahhhhh.... and now I can stand on my back deck and watch 3 different fireworks displays at once... I love this holiday... I love this house! :)

It's been a very good day :D
