Would this be considered a macro shot?

I like these:
First, the generic "eyeball" shot.
"Self Portrait"
Second, the generic drop shot.
"Shallow"

Not really extra-ordinary macro shots, but I haven't done many yet ...

There are some amazing shots here, I have yet to get into macro, but do now have the lens for it. Tried the other day, with a red back spider, but the result wasn't worth uploading.
Konador, I am amazed that ice shot is a macro, I would never have spotted it as such. Also love yours there Quad ... and a heap of earlier ones from people, but I can't see who off hand ;)

Here are the ones from above that struck me as really cool:

Some great shots in this thread! I would consider a lot of them "close-ups" and not macros, but that is just semantics (but there is a difference).
Nothing terribly exciting for me.
This is a "standard" macro of a petunia in our front yard that I took in October:
This is a "mega macro" with all of my extension tubes stacked on my macro lens. Taken the same time as the above. It really shows the delicate detail of the frost that you take for granted in the first picture.

Are you all commenting on others shots or just showing yours off? Ahem...lets see some comments before you post your own. |

Sonifo, I agree with you that this thread serves little purpose if comments aren't made along the way (and I have left some) - so thanks for yours.
Here's my shot after your suggestion. What do you think?

The title of this thread is "Post your top macro shots", not "comments, please".
Anyway, why the bold? |

That is kind of inconsiderate if you think about it. I will post and not look. Hmmmm...how selfish can one be? Really, is life all about you and your photos? Come on let's see some interest in someone else besides yourself.
Bold because I like it. People tend to look at it more. You did? Otherwise you would think it was a comment and why look at comments or other photos?
I am done. |
