| It was a challenging challenge but in the end I felt pretty decent about it andm y scores area bout where they always are which is not what I want I want to go up dammit.......sigh |

Many of these low votes are scrubbed at the end. My guess is that some people like throwing out some ones to get everybody all cranked up and then enjoy seeing us moan about it in the forums.

The dof is shallow, everything is in focus. Hmmmm... a comment on why the score is so low would help more !

If everything is in focus, that could be a problem for your score and the interpretation of voters. They are expecting areas of out of focus and a specific area that is in focus that draws their attention. But, then again, maybe I misunderstood your comment here.... |

Same sort of thing happened to me last night.
I had 2 votes and was sitting at 6.5
Then checked to see what the competition was like.
When I went back to see if my score changed I couldnt believe it.
it went to a 5 within 2 votes.
are people going around giving 1's?
come on people, I hope thats not the case.
And if it is then atleast leave a comment on why you did so atleast the photographer may understand better and perhaps work on a change.
My mark is still sitting very low which is very disappointing for me.
I am not doing so well on here anymore .

I know it's been suggested before but I can really see a valid reason for enforcing a comment on all 1 - 3 votes with the score given being placed in the comment, I do occassionally score an image very low but will always put a comment in and would still continue to score in the same way if this were to be put in place.
I wonder if those people that score very low all the time (genuine voters but that have an extremely low given vote avg) realise that they affect the scoring balance unless they vote on EVERY image in the challenge.

ahh, but "dreadful shot" usually means you have a dreadful shot. "Good Shot" means, "Nothing special, sort of liked it, wanted to comment but have nothing to say, next."
