I already know what you think of me. You base my entire worth as a human being on whether or not I agree with you. |
Wow. Just wow. This post saddens me and makes me feel absolutely hopeless. |
Sorry bout that. things aren't going well here in the 3d world and I guess I was having a bit of a pity party for myself inside my head. |
Would you be willing to back off of this position a bit, in hindsight? I don't think it's fair to any of the people who disagree with you on moral, practical, or logical grounds. Personally, I haven't referenced your character or worth a single time. If you are unwilling to do so, I'd suggest that you remove yourself from the debate, since you've stated your case and have made it clear you know what we think and how we feel, and if that's not good enough to change your mind, why even bother continuing?
I personally would much rather you stay here and open yourself to new ideas, instead of leaving with your fingers in your ears. It has been very encouraging to see you follow and study links to information even in opposition to your beliefs... as much as I may disagree with your stance, your approach in this regard has been commendable. |
yes I back off of 'knowing' what you all think of me. Like I said I am having a tough time right now (understatement) and I pushed my frustrations out on everyone. It was wrong of me to say what I said. At best it was wrong and at worst it was inflammatory. I do apologize. |

Thank you, dponlyme. This is very good to hear.
Apology accepted, as far as I'm concerned. |

You do realize that even before Lawrence V. Texas, only 13 states had anti-sodomy laws, right?
Not only were you wrong about sodomy being illegal, you wildly overestimated the number of states that even had sodomy laws on the books. 13 is not most of 50.
You've substantially undermined your credibility here, in my opinion. Where did your information come from?
In any case, thank you for recanting, even if you've ignored me to do it.

The big deal about gay marriage is that there's WAY too much writing, planning, renting, and organizing left to do in the short month and a half I have left.
Goodness this is a lot of work! :) |

The constitution is a joke. Seriously. The fact that we are still basing modern day law making and policy off a document that is almost 233 years old is insane. Im sure many of the authors would be disgusted if they were to look at todays constitution and see that over the past 233 years, we have made just 27 changes!
But thats besides the point. Marry who you wanna marry, gay people have the right to be just as miserable as straight people. |

LOL! Agreed.
This is another area where I get confused (there are so many). The very people that claim they want "small goverment" are the same people that want formally to ban gay marriage.

Instead of calling them a married couple, why not call them a fornicating couple?

Everyone is welcome to post to our forums. When engaged in a heated disagreement, there is sometimes a tendency to "push the other person's buttons," perhaps without even doing so consciously. Please be very careful of this, as it can have the effect of baiting or provoking anther user, and disrupt an otherwise productive discussion.
We understand that discussions sometimes get heated, and remind you not to attack other participants. Please comment on the contributions, not the contributors.

Hey!
I forgot to say congrats!
My wife and I lived together for five years before we got married.
Neither of us thought it was any big deal, but we just thought we'd make it legit.
Much to our surprise and delight, it just gave us that last little piece of the puzzle and made us realize that we'd made the ultimate commitment to each other.
25 years later, we are still happy we made that commitment.
May you have the same blessing as we did.

On a different note...I do find it interesting that thousands of years of human evolution would produce homosexuality. It does, after all, interfere with human procreation. Hmmm...maybe its nature's solution to human overpopulation? Thats my scientific view.
I'm not a scientist and I'm getting a head ache thinking about it : ) |
....people are born with no arms too. That interferes with living....whats your point? |

The point just might be that being born with no arms is not normal and no parent would wish this on their child. Being homosexual is not normal either, never has been and never will be. It go against life's natural order of male and female.

It could certainly be a normal, recessive trait. The nature of evolution does not require every difference (even recurring ones) to confer a survival advantage. If not genetic, how would you explain known homosexual behavior among other animals... acts of free will? Life's natural order is found in variation, not genetic idealism.

What natural order? |

Well, the natural order is....you see with your eyes and not with your ears and you smell with your nose and not your hands etc, etc. And the parts of the human body made for procreation and pleasure are made for each other and not to be placed in other parts of the body. It is not normal. Get it? Do freaks of nature occur? Yes, but that is what they are....freaks.
