Okay I have updated everyone as far as I know. If there are any problems please let me know. Thanks evryone for playing.
Just a reminder to the team Captains, I need your banners if you haven't sent them already. Also I need the captains of each team. Please check the list to see if you team has a captain. If not choose one and let me know. If your team already has a captain please don't email me with the name again.
The season will start on the 17th of this month and I have pretty much worked out the scoring system. I will fill everyone in within the next few days.

Joseph,
I'm the captain of Canada II. You can get the banner(s) from my profile.

Please change the name of "TEAM "I need a name guys!!!" " to "MYSTERY"
Four out of eight agreed on that name. I guess we'll have Question marks somewhere on our jersies and maybe some multi-coloured Olympic rings. GO OLYMpics!
Either through this forum or PMs to me these members havev acknowledged interest. Crafty, Louisa, Truegsht, eaglebeck, beckydi I hope everyone will submit photos each week, with their best attempt. Anything is better then a forfeit/zero.
I've not heard from michaelc or Intelli. Hey, if we try, the potential is unlimited. It's not just the equipment, it's the effort and timing. Welcome to all team members.
ADDED: Please PM me your Jersey Numbers, mine's "42"
Also is this you 1st, 2nd, or 3rd DPCO participation?
Lastly, TWO favorite colors for jersies?
(The hexadecimal # or RGB values of web-safe colors are good too.)

Dirt_Diver, are we able to run with 4? if not what happens if no one else comes along?
I'd rather not take on the captains role unless really necessary and will contact the rest of the UK team later to see if I can sort something out.
If we are unable to compete with 4 then I guess a banner would be a pointless exercise.
All those wanting to enter but thinking we are UK only please add your name to the thread :) we are now a mixed team much like the "Mystery" one. |

Maybe you could merge with Canada III, as they also have just 4 members. |

Yeah if we merge then we can call ourselves Team, Misfits, Team Variety or Team Unwanted or Team Nomads LOL. I can't take on the captain role I am afraid, dont know what it entails but I am just not that reliable at the moment. I will definitely have an entry in each week, but that is about all I can promise.
Edit to add: Oooooh just thought of one Team World Travellers

Please change the name of "TEAM I need a name guys!!!" to "MYSTERY" or "MYSTERY TEAM". Is that a good name, I'm open to alternatives.

I'm good with it if the rest are...
Tbh Dirt_Diver I suspect most people that want to participate have probably already shown their interest? Might be best to just push the Canada III and UK teams together anyway and let us think of a name - that would at least make all the existing teams full with the exception of Iceland who have 5 currently.

I do not want to do that just yet. If no one else has signed up by the 16th I will combine the two teams. Lets give everyone a chance to play.

It seems all the American teams are full, at the same time I would like to be on a team. So I will provide in the following a good reason I might be considered to be included in one of the teams short of participants.
Canada III- I have got drunk in Calgary, and I just purchased a lens from Art Roflmao
UK-I want to fly-fish in Scotland, and my wife has red hair.
Iceland- I have seen the northern lights, and have skated on a frozen lake.
I know-I know, all the reasons above are quite undeniable.
So if any of the preceding teams have a spot that can be filled with someone with a hell of a lot of try, let me know..

Wow a third season so soon, you guys must be running on Energizer batteries :)
I was asked to join the Icelandic team and I had to decline because at work september-november are by far the busiest months and I sometimes work from 9am-12pm several weeks in a row and I never make commitments I know I´ll have a hard time to stick to, maybe if there is a IV season in the start of 2009 I can play :)
I want to make one suggestion though, to have the monday-sunday member challenge count in the DPCO as well. I always really liked that in the DPL, that you could choose whether you entered the member challenge on sunday and if you scored badly you got a second chance to "earn your keep" for the team and had two days to shoot for the open challenges. I know that the motto of the DPCO is that you choose to use the basic editing challenges on tuesdays so everyone can compete and this way they still can. It might even encourage non members to become members, I mean 25$ is not really a lot of money, it´s the price of two movie tickets here in Iceland and it costs money to run this site.
All I can say is that for me, personally I find shooting within the basic editing rules can be and is fun but it can also, depending on the choice of subject, be extremely limiting, especially if you are making a commitment for 8-12 weeks in a row of basic editing challenges. I enjoy all stages of editing, sometimes I just spend 5 seconds to tweak an image in a raw processor and it´s done and I have on occasion spent more than 12 hours post processing a single frame so I don´t want to be trapped in any one box of thinking over an extended period of time.
Have fun guys, I´ll be watching from the sidelines, time for Iceland to take back the title!!! :)

Hmm, what do you mean? We don´t have that am-pm designation here so I guess I must be missunderstanding how it is worded, I thought am was before noon and pm is after noon. Not everyone is born speaking english you know, some of us only know it as a third, fourth or fifth language :)
Anyway, know you were joking and got my drift so I am going to open a cold beer in about 20 minutes, anybody want to join me, regardless on what am or pm it is wherever you are in the world?

Wasn't 100% sure if Team UK was filled up or not; I'm not picky. I'll probably be the 'Eddie the Eagle' for my team anyway ;-) |
