27th for me... and I was TOTALLY surprised and thrilled! My poor family heard nothing but, "Did you hear I got a blue ribbon?" for days. *grin*

| It took me only 9 entries to get a blue ribbon... but now it has been 110 entries since my last ribbon! I seem to be getting crappier by the day :) |

| 18 before my yellow then another 41 before my Red so my first blue should be around the 140 challenge mark ;) |

My goal at one time was to get enough ribbons to qualify for a Masters challenge - they haven't had one since :( ...
Anyway, it took me 33 challenges to get my first ribbon (I remember I checked my computer upon waking in the middle of the night- as the screen turned on I couldn't believe what I saw on the front page -- and that one was sorta lucky I think.
Then I didn't get another until nearly 60 challenges later. |

HM on my 11th, 4 more HMs before the first ribbon at #69.
I also had 3 scores over 7 before I ribboned with s 6.6. |

I got my first ribbon (blue) on my 5th entry.

I'll second that! Took me 6 free study challenges to ribbon and albeit for a blue ribbon for the last sepia challenge, in which I self-disqualified, its been downhill ever since! Lol.
I think I know what it takes to do well on here, but as my passions evolved, I don't tend to worry so much about it! I tend to follow my heart now rather than my ego, after all I do photography for myself, and I'm my own worst critic anyway (ive submitted some proper clanggers!!! Lol!). Having the pressure to submit something on a deadline has a really negative effect on my photography - no more submissions based on what I think others will like!
No more ribbons for me then!!! |

| took me more than 3 years, 55 challenges and 3 HM's (one was dq'ed tho) since my first entry to get my first ribbon (red one) and another 2 for the blue :) |

Over 3 and a half years, 125 challenges before I hit paydirt and my life changed forever. :/

28 for me, and that one's pretty fresh in my history.
What I find to be an almost-as-interesting question is, how long were you a photographer before coming to DPC and then winning ribbons? |

| there will never be enough challenges to allow for even a statistical mistake of me gaining a ribbon. Just not in the cards for me. |

Took me 42 challenges. I had my profile page filled with 6.5+ entries across the 9 spots before I was able to finally win my first ribbon. Even then my luck hasn't been good. I have had 14 entries that scored between 6.80 & 7.51 that haven't won ribbons and 5 that didn't even finish in the top ten. If my name was Irene 10-12 of those probably would have won ribbons. :P
