Week 5 Averages Pulled and entered. Check the scoresheet (link in the OP) for details.
Free Study counts for week 6. The FS hits Sunday, so for purposes of the "first entry of the week" rule (Rule 3), the Member challenge is the default first entry. So if you enter both FS and Double Take, you need to post before Sunday for your FS to count. Otherwise, your Double Take entry will count by default. If you want to use an open challenge entry over either your FS or Double Take entry (or both), you also have to post by Sunday.

That'd be a side side challenge, so I just created the thread for it!

I will be bowing out this week with my horse entry on 4.8. So good luck to all for the coming weeks.

Oooh, a tenth increase in so few challenges for a 50+ veteran is good going - stick with the side challenges Lenny.
Me? purple will get me into week 5 but still no ideas for the open challenges so might not progress further.

WHAT? a 4.8? It is not possible that you could even produce a score that low with your talent. Voters must not understand your image.

Heh. Voters occasionally have to remind us that they have the last laugh word. Who are these people anyway? Oh. |

Just submitted my week 5 shot and whilst I was worried about making it through next week I think this grab shot might just score higher than my current average :)

I'm very worried about my B&W abstract shot. Not as a shot - I like it a lot. But whether it'll break my avg. is a whole different question. I've shot more different subjects for this challenge, and tried more editing options, than anything I can remember. But nothing looks as good to me as the second edit of my original subject, despite its imperfections.

Momentum has swung the other way...my Doors score was within 0.07 of my average this AM but now is almost 0.15 away. If by some miracle I stay in, my Horses shot is still above my average, but I really doubt I will need it... |

Dennis, the amount of work you're putting into this is overwhelming for me to imagine.
Thanks bunches for your sacrifice so we can have this fun. Even though I was out at the first round, I'm really enjoying watching the battle.

I've got no shot at making it through to the next round as I'm currently .3 away from my average ... bummer onaccounta my horses shot is .6 above my average right now ... wish I could 'transfer' a few of those votes to help my 'doors' score! |

The Door challenge gets me into the next round. I have over 100 votes on the Horse challenge which might break my PB. Need to find a free study shot to kill to birds at once. Thanks Dennis for doing this side challenge, I pretty much hadn't enter for a couple of months prior to this challenge, my average finally hit my goal for this year of 5.5.....see you guys in the next rounds..... |

Not as much work as it seems, raally, especially since SDW gave me his nifty Excel macro that automatically pulls scores after every challenge. I'm bummed I got bounced out in week 3, but still having fun watching and rooting for everyone else.
I'd be out this week anyway ... heading up to Canada for 10 days starting tomorrow, and no time to shoot for any of the current challenges. I'll update the OP and the scoresheet tonight after rollover, then Ecce Signum has graciously agreed to mind the store while I'm gone, pulling averages for next week and reminding you all to post your opt outs before the deadline. Thanks Andi!
