It's fast and fun, and I know I enjoy watching the agility trials.

Yesterday, our family went to Woofstock, and caught a bit of an agility trial, but this one had a bit of a twist !

Here's a photo I took :

That's some pig!

OMG that is too frickin funny Lea! Thanks for sharing with us!!!

Had a great shoot this afternoon with the cowboy. Got well over 400 shots, had to stop looking at them, sit down and start sifting through them to find just one to enter. Oh the agony! At least I have tons more shots to send him and his wife.

And a potential top 50 in night sky...

So. I'm stuck in Afghanistan again. It's a lot like the Hotel California... The flight this morning was cancelled; tomorrow's was full already when we checked, and with today's not going.... well, it's now fuller. So we tried for Wednesday - ended up with a possible on Friday. I'm now just hoping I get back in time to catch my flight from Kuwait to Germany... Ah, the joys of travel by military airlift! And no inflight meals or movies.. Or air conditioning. That latter is a biggie. :-)

But you volunteered for this trip right? ;)

Heh. Yeah, I did. And silly me, I left my laptop in Kuwait. I was only supposed to be here for three days and didn't want to lug an extra bag. Rats. I could use this time to work on improving my editing skills or some such... Ah well. May be time to visit the library or the USO and find some new reading material?

Deb - I'm curious - what is your job within the military ?

Congratulations to SaraR on her 6.4424 in the May FS which moved her up to an incredible 8th place in the 2008 FSM. She is ahead of many well known photographers from DPC, proving once again that she is a pretty great photographer herself. :)

Thanks Ernie - I just logged in and saw my placement. I'm beaming big style, but I'm going to have to up my entries if I am to stay there! Perhaps I should set myself a goal of beating MAK....? The scoring on the FS was strange; from 80 votes to rollover I dropped well over half a point, mostly in the last two days, but then on rollover I magically went from 6.38 to 6.44, which was a very pleasant surprise.

Congrats Sara!!

Deb, never leave the laptop!! Hope you catch a flight soon! Have you read The Scorpions Gate?

Susan, way to go!

Oh, and I currently have a 5.2 in partners but was really not expecting much anyway.

Thanks Kelli!

Some of the comments on my Cowboy shot are driving home, nicely, that my PS skills need work. I know the program has built-in tutorials but they are usually long, boring and difficult to follow. Don't really have time, $$ or inclination to take a course. Right now I tend to use the same tricks over and over again, need to break out of this rut. Anyone willing to help me expand my limited repertoire?

'Grats, Sara! I did indeed go check to see your standings - thank you for representing us well! Now I want you to try something completely different and shoot wildlife for the next FS. :-P

Still in Afghanistan, and yes, I've learned to never go anywhere without my laptop.... But I do like Afghanistan. It gets stinkin' hot in the daytime, though not as hot as Kuwait (only 110s or so) but it cools off nicely at night (70s). And it's kinda pretty here.

'Grats on that score, Susan! Make sure you print a copy for those responsible. :-)

But I like wildlife - and I am getting better at it too! And June is one of the best months for the photo I have in mind. And only four of my five FS entries this year have been wildlife. And, and, and ... the girl is posturing too much and can't think of another excuse! Maybe I should set a goal to enter a non-wildlife shot for July - I know, I could go to a zoo...

LOL!! And yes, you are quite good at it! I'd try wildlife for my next FS but I'm not quite sure where to look for any other than birds.

Hi all!

Jeanne, you're welcome, hope I gave you a good comment...

LOL oh I definitely will, Deb, and I still have another 200 or so pics to go through and choose more shots from...

Christian, thank you very much for your kind offer, I'll definitely take you up on it!

Does anyone understand the high contrast challenge well enough to give me an opinion (of course with the understanding you won't vote on it). My usual opinion giver went away for a few days, lol.
