Since there seems to be no shortage of threads of this nature -- why stop now? And of course "high scorer" depends on the photographer. One person's high score might be someone else's average. Maybe pick from your top five.

Here's my least favorite high scorer.

I like the composition, but when I look at it, I see a number of things I could have done better in post-processing. I'm always happy when my stuff scores high, but this shot up 0.2 or more in the last few hours of voting (beating out my other two 6.44xx photos -- must be my lucky number), and now it's my third place, so I have to look at it for a while.

If this takes off, I'll let someone else start the obvious companion thread.

I'll play

I'll never understand why this scored a 7 in the Sports challenge

7s are pretty rare for me. I had this one pegged for a 6.

Then fast forwad about a year, This one I thought was much better (expression, moment, ball) and it scores a 6.1 in the ABC challenge

Both met the challenge and the technicals were good.

Go figure.

I'm happy that this one finally got out of my profile page :)

I don't even remember seeing this when it happened. I took a couple hundred shots of fireworks that night, all with 1.5-2 second exposures hoping to catch something.

Sadly, I suspect I shall never shift this one from my front page.

This came in 13th, so it isn't one of my top 5, but it scored above 6.5.

It's my least proud because I took it to test a theory that surfing shots always score better than I think they should. It isn't that hard to do well; its generally bright so stop-motion is no problem, and it is very predictable.

It scored well, but I didn't really like it.

At the time I didn't have PS or Neat Image to work on the shot.

Say you don't mean it!

Next thing you know, you will have something bad to say about Iceland!

They both met the challenge but the first one was more obvious, which may have led to the more perfect votes it got. The challenge was sports and you clearly showed a sport. The other one you needed to show "anticipation" for it to meet the challenge and that's not as easy to show as a sport so you probably didn't meet the challenge strong enough in some eyes. Or maybe you just got unlucky and lost a bunch of 10 votes to the scrubber because those people didn't vote on 20%. :P

Mine is probably this one. I like it but the basic ruleset forced my hand on some editing choices.

This one has been sitting in my #1 spot for almost 5 years now. My personal goal is to beat it as I really don't like it.

Granted the concept/idea was fine, but the photograph is flat out horrible. I took this with a P&S and ambient room lighting. Don't remember if I used a flash or not, but if I did, it was built in. I think the only reason is scored so high was because of the concept and not the execution.

This shot bores me to tears.

I wasn't surprised that this won the blue, I was surprised at the whooper of a score. I figured it would score a 7+, but 7.7, WOWZA.

Still a lovely shot and trick PP for basic. Well deserved blue.

Why would you want to? I'd be proud of this one if it were on my front page! :-)

done under classic editing. This crazy shot scored over a 7; methinks I will NEVER get it off my front page. :/

This is the shot I least connect with in my top 10. It was pandering all the way. I find the image pleasing and I knew it would score well, but it has very little character to it - practically nothing of me in it. There are several other images like this in my higher scores. Many just entries to satisfy my entry addiction.

You would think with that score it would have won the blue but it didn't. dwterry had to spoil the fun. :P At the time I was 0 for 3 in winning challenges when scoring 7.5 or higher so it stung a little.

As for the score itself, I agree. It was probably helped by the fact that there was only 87 entries in that one. Low number of entries usually means higher than normal scores for the ribbon winners.

My 11th-highest scoring image is the first of my high-scorers I don't like, and the 12th and 14th images on my list I feel that way about also. The processing seems very clumsy to me on all 3 of them. They all finished right around 10th place though, so go figure...

It's not that I don't like this picture, I do. It's a neat little trick with Jenn as the ghost, but my #1 viewed image and #8 all time on DPC? I think not...
