She got mine too, as did posthumous, and I'm up to 6.35!

No, it's not.

They love unequivocally.

They *ARE* family members.

Grieve without guilt, and give love to another grateful and loving pet as soon as you can.

You're a good and loving person.....share that with another addition to the family.

We have 5 cats, 2 dogs, a rat, and a turtle, and we love them all.

We've had heartache and pain many times over the last 30 years we've been together and lost these gentle and loving "children", but the rewards have been priceless.

I don't know what my scores are because I'm afraid to look at them.

I'm in for Free Study, Cool Colors, and DNMC.

Thanks to skewsme for the nice comment on my Free Study and to hipychik for the nice comment on my DNMC.

I've got a lovely comment from posthumous on my DNMC. Thanks Don!

On a humorous note: I've been compared to Librodo today! LOL

ETA: This comment... "Exceptionally beautiful Top 10 for me!" on an image with a current score of 4.6 also makes my day.

So any ideas for compacts? Preferably something flexible and quality. The Canon G9 is probably out price-wise, the Ricoh R8 is a contender.

Without knowing what kind of photography you are wanting to do with it, it is tough to make suggestions. If you are looking for something to shoot wildlife I would suggest one of the Panasonics, with the really nice Leica superzoom lenses, they are a great value and give you the reach you need to shoot some wildlife. If you are interested in Macro shots then I would look at the Nikon compacts, as they are great quality and known for wonderful macro capabilities.

Start your search by checking out Steve's Digicams and DP Review which both do great real life tests on newly released cameras and in the final review page compare them to other similar models.

Good luck with your search for a great new camera!

Ahh, yes.

Basically it would be a walkaround camera, so it would be mostly outdoor shots, probably landscape or wildlife, or architecture. Macro is a possibility, though I suspect in reality it's not likely to be the most-used thing. I shall look for this zoomy camera you mention :D

Sometimes the subtlety of a compliment is just so nice......

I got a fave on my DNMC shot from someone who is IMNSHO a true talent in the style that I created my image.

Wow.

It just doesn't get any better than that!

Blaino is a brand new member - I thought TSers may be interested in some of the photos in his, so far, small portfolio.

Your welcome! That means you got a nice score to go with it, since I've only commented on my 9's & 10's so far.

I'll enjoy watching you pull far, far ahead in the FS marathon. You're riding exactly a point higher than me this month.

As for your cat, feel the grief without guilt. Loving your cat doesn't take anything away from loving your father or anyone else you may have grieved over.

Colorcarnival and hipychik are way up there on the FS marathon, too. On the full list, you don't even have to scroll down to find them!

Well back from vacation and not having a puter to vote, so went to the resluts thread and gave my 2cents. I stay around not because I know that my photos are worthy to be here, but to look and learn from all you that have photos worthy of being here.

I'm not in the FS Marathon, but I am up to 6.39 for my FS entry this month!

I used to feel that way until I realized that what this place does for me is give me ideas and support so that I can discover, establish, and take pride and pleasure in doing the kind of photography that gives *ME* fulfillment.

It takes a conscious effort, and you have to trust that you will get better as you discover the little tricks and techniques that make the technical aspects work, but as you watch your work improve, it's incredibly rewarding.

The first sign of this for me has been my caring a little bit less what the &%$@#%&%$#@ voters think!......LOL!!!

And here is the webpage that shows the full results for top tens. This is for all challenges to date - not just the free studies. It includes all DPC'ers with points, I think.

Oops - my bad - it's not the FS marathon, it's the DPC Points List (unofficial) for ALL challenges in the first quarter. I knew what I meant...

Oh, dang, Kelli, we were both over...only 4 threads. ;)
