Yay on the score, Jelena!! When did you shoot that??
I'm still sorting through far too many pictures, but will hopefully edit and post a few today. As I get older, I get wiser - I now include the day after a vacation trip as part of my vacation so I can rest up a bit before the back to work part. :-) |

It wasn't a DPC related one. Though you might recognise the model from a previous challenge entry :)
Soon, one of these days I'll get around to editing all those DPC GTG pics! I ended up with 200 DPC pics, then 550 fire related pics on Monday night, then a few more from our stroll on Tuesday, and I already had a 300 pic backlog from a shoot I did last Thursday. I'm drowning in pixels! And wishing for that day off you speak of for editing them all :) |

I have been quiet lately, except for the Macro side challenge, but I thought you may like to know that finally my eye surgery is being done next Wednesday the 26th March.
I am excited and also a little scared as I have been waiting for such a long time.
Hopefully my eye sight will improve after the surgery if all is well.
It is our Easter long weekend this weekend, and then is will be time for my surgery.
I will hopefully get back to commenting much more and join in again in the threads.
Happy Easter to all that celebrate the Easter celebrations.
love shez

fingers crossed for you, shez.
the sprog is playing with my old wooden drawing mannequin, loudly proclaiming things like - i love my woody! i'm so glad i have a woody! i need to inspect the woody! the man and i are having a really, really hard time not collapsing from the contained laughter. innuendoes fly over the sprog's head like, um, flying things...

Thanks everyone for the best wishes re my surgery. I am a little scared as last time they took three times longer due to the problem that I have with valley and mountains on the surface of my eye, which makes taking the lens off a lot more difficult.
I will be pleased to finally have some sight back so it will be worth it thats for sure.
Hopefully my photography will improve and also looking forward to making heaps more comments.....
This is a great site and I also love being part of Team Suxk as it ROCkS.....

All the best, Sherryl. Brian's guardian angel's having a good run of form, maybe you could borrow it for a day or two?
Medical science does some great things. Enjoy :-) |

Shez, looking forward to you getting back to us with renewed vision! Colleen, we'll wait - you enjoy Paris. And don't forget we'd like to see what you saw when you get back. Jelena, you got some GREAT shots of the folks at the GTG - thanks for sharing them! |

New top 5 it is, it seems. *preemptive victory dance*
Oh, editing question - does anyone know if you're allowed to use Liquify under advanced editing rules? It's for a very minor tweak, no major features are being altered. (just read through the new rules and can't see anything that would stop me from it, but thought I'd check!) |

dunno....but so long as you're not introdcing new elements, I'd think it be allowed...maybe best to check with the SC, they got back to me within 24 hours re a question I had on an entry.
Congrats on the top 5 finish!!! |

Advanced editing rules are about results, not tools. If you're not making major changes, then it falls into the same category as cloning or the healing brush. But sending it to the SC is the safest route. Just go to help->contact us. You don't need to upload a full-size file for editing questions, just something big enough to show them what you mean.

My Lesson from past DQ's has been if it cannot be seen in the original subject matter, it's not in the editing, other wise it is creating new image area. |

On Wednesday I had my first ever mammogram. Definitely not a comfortable or fun procedure, but not nearly as painful as I was fearing.
On Thursday I got a call from the mammography department, asking me to come in for further pics of my left breast and an ultrasound on it.
Now - the rational side of me knows that it's my baseline mammogram, so they need to look at every little 'blip' and all that.
But - the emotional side of me is scared silly.
I've seen my mother go from fibrocystic breasts to stage 4 metastatic breast cancer in under 6 months, and watched her fight every day for 3 years before succumbing to the beast that cancer is.
I've seen my grandmother go through mastectomy, radiation and chemotherapy, fade away to barely a stick figure, and lose her fight against this beast as well.
And I know that my great-grandmother fought it as well.
I feel like a walking time bomb with my boobs now.
If I wasn't nursing, and hoping for at least one more baby eventually, I'd seriously consider asking for a prophlactic double mastectomy now.

Oh Lea, my heart does go out to you. It must be awful living with that fear, with your family history. I really can't offer any advice, just be brave and concentrate on the positive, and if caught early enough breast cancer is highly treatable.
keep us posted, girl.
*hugs*
