Woohoo! I did notice my score go up from 5.1 to 5.3 in the last few hours, and I have 4 comments on it. I'll try to get votes/comments out for it this weekend.

Yay, only 1 and 1/2 work days to go 'til the London GTG - which other TSers are going?

Me! Though my work day is almost over (I'm leaving early) and tomorrow is a travel day. I'm coming down with a wicked nasty cold but I don't think it's going to stop me. I'll pick up some vitamin C, some tea, and I shall be good to go. For at least a couple hours at a time, anyway!

I'll be there :)
So looking forward to it!

When you get to the airport in the UK, grab some Contac 24 - doesn't cure the cold, but takes care of the symptoms.

And don't forget!

Well, I got my new "used" lens from Adorama yesterday. And... it's defective! Arggg! I spent all day yesterday playing with it, trying to get it to work. It would shoot 1 picture then go to ERR 99. I cleaned the contacts, took the battery in and out, used the other battery, took out the CF card and replaced. Each time it would reset, shoot 1 picture than go to ERR 99. I finally gave up and this morning called for a return tag and ordered a different lens. I still bought used but bought what I hope is a better lens, the Tamron 28-300 3.5/6.3 L diff/Canon *72. I have no idea what the L diff & the *72 stand for. Can anyone enlighten me?

Blur seems to be a low-scoring challenge (not surprising in this uber-sharp, color-rich community). I've got four very positive comments and a 5.4.

Kelli I recommend you send that lens back to Adorama. They tend to have good customer service, and I suspect you'll just continually have trouble with it.

I think I remember that stuff from long long ago. Not sure they still have it in the US at all, to tell you the truth. I'll pick some up at truly exhorbitant prices given the exchange rate. :-)

I would hazard a guess that is the thread size - ie 72mm, but it is just a guess.

motherlee and I will be there, she is nearly back to normal. Weather forecast looks a bit iffy now, showery. But, I will have to dig out the umbrella.

Sorry, I can't resist posting this (redacted a bit, like Spitzer's indictment, due to it still being in voting):

"This would have been real nice if the _____ was more in focus."

I am so glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read that; would have come straight back out of my nose!

Now my only question is whether to mark it helpful . . . LOL (yes, I will, it's not that bad, just bad).

Oh, and I expect to be in London. :)

Deb, 100cl of Fuller's ESB + 1/3 gill single malt, twice for breakfast dinner and tea. Trust me, it doesn't work, but hey...

(Apologies to Redneck)

If this is a double post, I apologize. I just saw tonight that xianart has a photo featured in the JPG Magazine Blog. Not sure if this means her photo gets published or not but at least it got a call out for some recognition. Pretty cool...

Congrats!

If ever there was a perfect image for a "leap" theme, that would be the one. Congrats, Christian! [when are you going to offer it as a print? ;)]

My 'if it's basic it's blurry' promise to Don is going well so far this year

*lol* Nope - but a good part of my post dissappeard into cyber-space apparently.

I was going to say :

Good morning everyone.
Hubby is still on lay-off, with no end in sight, unfortunately. We're managing okay, though being cautious with our savings and such.
Our Jeffrey was kind enough to keep me here for the next year.

And, if this lay-off lasts, it'll give me lots of behind-the-camera time :D Gotta look on the bright side, right ?

Thanks a bunch Jeffrey.
