Hey fellow suckers...I am so excited! I won 2nd place in the people category in the monthly contest at betterphoto.com.
I entered this one . I'm freaking out!

That is so cool, terry - congratulations!

It is 2.15 in the morning and I can't get to sleep after the excitement of our little earthquake an hour ago. I'm going to be knackered for work tomorrow.

I'm in with a lovable loser for b/w. It's one of those photos that you don't care what the score is, you just want people to see it. :)

BIG congrats Terry! Do you get a prize?

I'm in for color on color. I'm waiting for a pre entry opinion on which edit to enter though.

Oh, and I actually have 23 comments on my peace entry, lol. Not that anyone actually likes it besides me, still sitting at a 4.4.

It's a difficult and unhappy determination to make....I'm sad for you, Susan.

well said, Jeb, I concur with this - a tough decision, but absolutely the right thing to do to come down on the side of the cat with "tenure". Sometimes the fit just isn't right.

I totally agree. Susan I am very sorry you had to make this tough decision. Hopefully the next kitty playmate for Octopussy will be more subservient. I am sure that Luna will get adopted out again in no time, and this time they will have a note with her saying she needs to be an only pet. :)

Hello TS'rs. Please read this thread. It is started by myself, as I need a few photos donated for website use for a charity event, to which 100% of all proceeds from fundraising will be donated to fight cancer. The shots I need are of people or families having fun on the water, either boating, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, sailing etc etc. Please read the details and I would appreciate your help.

thanks,

Ernie

Leading pieces are in the results thread. Congrats to SaraR who just missed a 7 score with her 4th place Peace entry, and to levyj413 for this top Leading Lines entry!

First, HUGE congrats to Terry for your 2nd place at Betterphoto! That's a very, very tough competition.

Second, I know I'm WAY WAY WAY behind on comments. I'll get to them, I swear! I just gotta get into the commenting mood. One nice thing is that I know TSers appreciate all thoughts, not just "great shot!"

Finally, Ernie, you're welcome to any of my shots. I posted some suggestions in your thread.

Yes, what he said. And of course, Terry's too humble to note that the winner in last month's people category was Librodo! Playing with the big boys, are we, Terry? :P Congrats again, well done!

Oh, and my wife and I woke up at 12:56am GMT to "experience" the earth quake bit of shaking, both of us laying there going, "Man, that wind is something else tonight." Doh! But Sara's a bit closer than us, so maybe she got something a bit more substantial . . .

Ernie, I don't think I have anything relevant for you (or for anyone else, for that matter, but I digress), but I'll take a look through my last couple of years and see if I missed something.

Susan, hard thing to have to do, but sounds like the right thing in the circumstances.

Lea, don't worry about the fact that's "Led Zeppelin" - read some of the song titles and lyrics and see if you get inspired. It's not quite poetry, but some of it's still quite good.

The Led Zeppelin thing - as a Team Suck exercise, and of course it's optional - kindly look at the lyrics and not just the song title. Yes, I realize the voters won't look at it that way at all and that the song title will suffice and a picture of a church for "Houses of the Holy" will probably win, but if you read the lyrics, you'll find that a picture of a church would be somewhat meaningless for that particular song.

Then again, take this from someone who has completely lost touch with voters and is simply trying to get others to do the same! :-)

'Grats to all who did cool stuff this week/month!

Personally, I'd like to find an old abandoned phone company building for "Communication Breakdown".

Should be as soon as Drew or Langdon is conscious and can deal with it.

I have so many ideas for this one. If only I had lights, models, etc. I do have one idea that I think I can pull off though and it is lyrics.

Please do get your blue shirt back. I keep meaning to get back to your trip photos and haven't had the time. I will make the time, however!

Somehow, my peace entry did not take the brown. I'm stunned.
