Mine took four months. I think Don's might have been longer. It all depends on when Langdon gets around to it - he's the one that does the tutorials, I believe - not the SC.

Ah, fair enough. So not much point in holding my breath and checking every couple of hours then :)

Heh. No.

But after a couple of weeks, send Langdon a note. I've found that he responds when nudged. Or, at least, he's gotten back to me to explain why it's gonna be a while.

Anyone who needs me to resend the ballot to refresh their memory please PM me; otherwise, please vote or I'll have to flip a coin! :)

One last shout out, if you'll permit me...

Heard from 3 more people, thank you very much - but as luck would have it, I'm still in a position to have to flip a coin, or in this case, roll dice. :) Anyone else want to pipe up, I'll extend the voting into tomorrow to give the balloted ones the opportunity.

Thanks!

Did I respond? Was I one of those who was supposed to? (The failing memory can be a detriment, but it also means I don't have to buy new books. I can just reread ones I already have because I don't remember reading them the first (or second) time!)

You're fine, Deb, yours was the first one in!

Sorry, Karen, will do this now. Was probably mad at you for having the gall to suggest we need another Bruce around here . . . :P

So if there were two and now three more but there's still a split then there must either be two twos or five ones. This may have to go into extra time. Of course, there are plenty of oobies lying around from the prototype trials, so it wouldn't harm to give out an extra one...

now see, I thought it would be fun to have a Bruce_the_Robert AND a Bruce_the_Almighty...

you've got it about right, raish - we've got 1 vote tallied for 5 different nominees - figured a two-side coin wouldn't do much good right now. ;)

Hopefully I didn't pick one of the ones that didn't yet have a vote . . .

And it's more fun to be unique than it is to be in good company (said the man, alone with his mind and his images).

Worry not on your uniqueness, my only debate is whether I have a world or not.
02/24/2008 03:31:29 PM · #162
Your vote is in and mercifully you agree with one other person! :D Now I'll just need a few more to make it a fair fight...

I think we should have a slew of "Bruce The..." members - they could be like Thanes, and occasionally saber-rattle and skirmish. Or is that too Anglo-Saxon for such a cosmopolitan group as ourselves?

Don't mind me, just a random whimsy...
02/24/2008 03:33:10 PM · #163
Alan, go with just Alan. I think since you've lived with that for awhile now in the real world, it'll work out just fine here. Though Alan_the_Bruce is yet another option. :-)
02/24/2008 03:36:09 PM · #164
or, actually, the correct form would be "Bruce_the_Alan"...

And now for a bit of expressionism... I'm stuck indoors and I've got a report to finish by tomorrow. These are my report writing faces.

If half of you end up as Bruces, and the other half turn into Bobs or Barbaras, you may well succeed in convincing me Team Suck only has a total of about 5 members...

I vote for Bruce_the_Alan :)

I can relate to these faces...

what's the page minimum you're shooting for? or is that question too painful to entertain at the moment?

I want to see one of you with pencils sticking out of your ears, hip-deep in crumpled notebook paper... :D (or are you not old enough to remember writing reports with pencils and notebook paper?)

Pencils? Would you believe, I don't think I actually own a pencil...
I have some pens or a keyboard? :)

2000 words, so really not the end of the world. I'm just winging really... :)

I've often wondered if anyone here uses any of the various IM programs. I use them all (in one program called Pidgeon that handles all current protocols); my AOL Instant Messager name is . . . wait for it . . .

I have others if people are using MSN or Yahoo or whatever. Would be nice to be able to see when other people are around and chat when they're having to make report faces . . . I suppose you can post your screen name here for all to see or you can just PM those who you want to have it.

Oh, by the way, Jelena, are you thinking of going to this? I'm having difficulty finding a confirmed way down there, but would really like to go.

oh, pffft. 8 pages, no sweat! And yes, I do believe you don't own a pencil. :)

I'm considering the London GTG, though it may be at the same time I'm due to make a return adventure to Kuwait and Qatar. I'll check at the office, then check airfare on the lovely and cheap RyanAir. And if I do go, I'd dearly love to meet some Suckers!

I'm on Yahoo IM as melethia2 at yahoo dot com, because long ago I forgot the password to the melethia account. Feel free to send me an invite all ye who may be so inclined.

Oh, and the other day I was at the commissary (the US military's version of a grocery store) and discovered all sorts of fun flavors of PopTarts. S'mores, chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate mint (which I hear are good out of the freezer rather than the toaster). And here I've been stuck on brown sugar cinnamon (still my fav, though.)

Oh, how cool :) I hadn't spotted that. Very tempting. Work allowing, anyway. London's so easy to get to from here, seems a shame to miss it.

I still haven't been converted to IMs... I'm being talked into it though, so maybe soon :)

My Wedding Workshop photographs are up on Flickr. One of the nice features there is the ability to view slideshows.
