She was given more than one suspension, and the final one was a permanent ban, which she tried at least four separate times to get around. |
Yes, I remember well.

Rose was no doubt a greater disruption, thus the permanent ban. We have learned from past experience. The community should not have to tolerate repeated temper tantrums in the forums, abuse of community members through the PM and comment systems, or other misbehavior. Though six months may seem harsh, it is in keeping with the severity of the behavior and the repeated ignoring of our attempts to encourage change.
This will be, personally, my one and only post on the matter. I've spent at least 12 hours this week alone dealing with the forum storm, and honestly that isn't really adding value to my life. I know that some others on the SC have spent even more time than I have on it. |
I don't agree with the severity, but no matter. I'd still buy you a beer, you deserve at least that. |

No doubt... Langdon will have to schedule a holiday for you on Risa...;-) |
OMG! You DIDN'T just say what I think you said...
In honor of SheWho, Leroy will furthermore be called HeWHoPosedWithCheese instead of Cheeseman. |

Originally posted by howzit: On the topic of returning - I have seen two somewhat high-profile figures leaving, Rikki and now Leroy (not to mention Rose, ESPY ...). It has been my observation that in each circumstance, although totally different circumstance, each would have been welcomed back - and for one, I miss them (at least Rikki and I am sure Leroy down the road). |
Interesting to hear Rikki, Leroy, and Rose mentioned in the same sentence. Three totally different situations, dealt with by SC in different ways, with fairly predictable reactions from the members.
Rose, fairly clear cut decision; multiple rules violations and a genuine disruption to DPC. I think everyone was glad to see the end of that situation.
Rikki... well, that was more like martyrdom than suspension. I thought certain members would never stop crying into their beer (I'm sure I even saw SC shed a tear). In truth, the majority of members didn't want him banned, but it was a case of 'rules are rules'
But Leroy, quite a subjective decision; with some vague reasons gathered together to justify his suspension. But I think it was SC who breathed the biggest sigh of relief in the end. Basically if you stay in line on DPC you'll get on juuuuust fine. But start pushing the boundaries of DPC 'respectability' or costing SC any time policing the forums and... well, the results speak for themselves. |

I've watched from a distance but decided finally to add what I said to someone on Messenger;
"well, all I can say is, I love Leroy dearly, but when my kids behaved like his last days' worth, they got a smack on the butt and sent to their rooms. Even if the reason behind the behaviour was valid, the actions weren't acceptable." |

Oh. I so agree. Leroy learned and taught so much, but If my kids did the same thing repeatedly after being told not too, I'm sure I would not have been as patient and let it go on for that length of time before some form of punishment would have been handed out. I mean geez, come on now. |

How do you know what the majority of members wanted? A lot of members were very angry at Rikki. Did you count them? And to call him a martyr for getting caught cheating?? huh? |

Ah, but he was a nice cheat. Didn't post nudes while getting fixing his scores. No smutty innuendo in how he beat people unfairly. Kind to animals. One of us. Except for the subverting the basic point of the site bit.
