Oh, you're free to borrow that one. And it comes with water. It's somewhere down on the waterfront near Kuwait City. :-) |
hmmmm, that's quite a distance from where I am. I wonder if a swan would pass as a pet ;-) |

UGH!!! I just picked up my dogs that I left over the weekend to help my dad. I had specifically asked them to trim them just a little so their coat would look nice and purdy. And Today I was thinking, oh cool I got my dogs groomed right in time for the challenge. Well, I picked up my dogs and the bastards shaved them! I didnt ask them to do that and they shaved them...sigh...oh well |

LOL, not sure there is a dog that looks it's best shaved. Just try an unussually close shot to the nose maybe no one will notice the dog has no hair. |

I don't have any pets :(
Looks like I'm off to the zoo again - this time to find the most average, most likely to be believed as a pet, possible...
N
EDIT: I might actually just buy a goldfish :)

Well, not that I would ever ribbon, but I was hoping to get to the 53rd Annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show this weekend. They even have their own Amateur Photography Contest, but I missed that deadline - and even though I have never sold a photograph, I am not sure I would even qualify as an amateur photographer yet LOL.
Always wanted to take a photograph of horses in all their splendor.

For those of you who don't have pets, you can always borrow one. The owner would probably love to have some really nice photos of their pet, and may even pay you for them. Even if they don't it'll be good practice. You say you don't know anyone to borrow a pet from? Well, how about shooting a stray? Stray dogs can be quite interesting too.
Good luck to everyone. I have not been entering much at all in the past few months as I have been very busy. I may try to find time for this one though.

This is going to be a difficult one, as we've all got more of an emotional attachment than usual to our shots, so we're going to hate to see our pics get low scores or bad comments. I will try to comment as a pet owner rather than a photographer where possible (or a bit of both)
I've got an odd request. Can people hint as to what gender their pet is (perhaps put their pet's name in the title) if it's not obvious, so commenters don't have to write "it" if they're not sure?

There's always "s/he" as an alternative. And some people may not know their pet's gender (I wouldn't know my parrot's, for instance, if I hadn't had her DNA tested).
But not such an odd request, to want to give an animal more respect than an "it." I'm with you, even for pets I would not personally bring home in a million years, like, oh, tarantulas ::shudder:: Who we choose to live with is a very personal thing.
Here's my request: if your pet has what I refer to in highly technical terms as "eye goobers" it will drive me right up the nearest wall!! I can't stand to see beautiful portraits messed up because someone didn't wipe the animal's eyes clean. And if you forget to wipe before shooting, clone out the goober. Please :-) |

Nope - it's not going to be a cat, dog or horse that wins - it's going to be a pet GOAT I tell you !
*lol*
Oh - and ShutterPug - I will be so sorely disappointed if you don't enter.

Peace people: y'all should know this is MaryO's challenge!
Anyway- looking at the last few challenges, I think I need to go out and buy myself a pet rodent of some sorts :-) Oh yes 0 there're the moles in my garden that keep digging up the lawn...Quick time for some aggressive, progressive domestication... |
