I stopped by Costco yesterday and found that they had 4GB Ultra II Sandisk CF cards on sale for $27... so I added a couple more to the family. If I remember correctly, I think this $15 instant rebate sale goes on through this month. ($27 is the final price after instant rebate.)

Stocking up for tomorrow, Alan? :D

Heh... I think I was already pretty well equipped for The Big Day, but now I'll be uber-equipped :) I am busy charging batteries, and last night I stocked up on a LOT of hand warmers. I'm taking my daughter along, and I really hope she doesn't freeze solid.

Dang, I was just there yesterday too but didn't go down that aisle like I usually do. Gonna go back today, thanks for sharing.

I just dug out the receipt to check on the exact numbers:

Regular price: $42.99
Instant rebate: $15.00
Total: $27.99

Awesome... thanks for the heads-up Alan!

where are you seeing the rebate form for that one ? I can only find it for the extreme III and IV versions (or is that a costco rebate ?)

Might also be worth checking out compUSA's going out of business sale

No form involved -- it was an "instant manufacturer rebate" -- so the $15 was taken off at the checkout.

What are you doing tomorrow, Alan?

"It's Groundhog Day... again." I'm from Punxsutawney, PA, originally, and for the last several years I've been Punxsutawney Phil's webmaster/photographer.

Think of me if you wake up at 3:00 a.m. to go to the bathroom or something. I'll be standing out in the cold with 30,000 crazy people.

At what point does it get too cold for flash memory to burn? ;-)

I've shot it before in -12, so apparently it would have to be pretty cold :)

I just got my 4 gig card! Thanks for the heads up Alan! I only had a 2 gig card and portable hard drive to download to. Now I can shoot 6 gigs at a time. :)

Glad you found 'em! I've been buying them up like crazy since I got the D300. It's amazing how much more memory I go through with 12MP compared to 6! I think I'm up to 6 of the 4GB cards, plus around 5 of the 2GB, and a bunch of 1GBs.

Just the other day I was thinking back to the day I bought my first 128MB card... and it was over $100!
