That sounds good to me although I'm sure that whatever you settle on will be a great trip. I really hope that I can make the necessary arrangements to make it this year.

Hi Becky ... I'm interested. Not sure of my schedule and not real picky on which location.

By the way, the Native American Models that you see in this gallery of mine, were coordinated last year by David Davis of Facerock Productions when a group of Utah photographers went to Moab. If you're interested in trying to work something out, you can email him at davis@dhdavis.com.

Also, see his website at www.facerockproductions.com.

He's based in Colorado, so I'm sure he's not limited to just Moab. Anyway, something to think about.

Looks great Becky. I should have all the syllabi for my classes by the end of this coming week, and I'll have a better idea of whether or not I can make it.

Anymore feedback?

Moab affordable lodging fills up fast, so I'd like to get a block of rooms set aside once we decide where we're going for sure. I'll start working on it Monday or Tuesday.

Moab is fine by me. I plan to stick around a little before and after so I can visit them all while I'm down there. Would you be basing out of the same campground as before?

Sounds good to me, if the dates are firm I'll book my tickets. I will also book a few days before and after and spend some extra time. Anyone want to share a rental car?

In Moab, I'm going to look at a couple other campgrounds that have a bit more space - like the one next door.

In Torrey, there's another place with cabins that are quite inexpensive. I'd rather spend the money on camera stuff.

I made it to Bryce/Zion just before the last trip so I'm less insterested in that.

April 17 thru 21? Maybe I can ride the bike there, but not for the whole thing. Let me work on it. Hay Becky, don't forget, Burning Man tickets go on sale Wednesday the 16th!

I'd like to haul the trailer out there. Gas is approaching $4.00 a gallon. Sure is putting a damper on my mobility.

It always feels like I get this going earlier and earlier, but find a place has been difficult each time. Moab fills up quickly, especially the less expensive, nice (or reasonable) lodging.

I'm checking on cabins, but most are just as pricey as the lesser prices rooms in town. There's a place with plenty of cabins (13), but are all economy, with only walls and mattresses on a bed frame. We'd have to bring our own bedding and towels. Restrooms and showers are in a separate building. These cabins are $49/night. This is at the Moab Valley RV Resort. and is their economy cabin.

I've found 2 places under $80/night that might have something: Apache Motel at $69/night, and the Red Stone Inn @ $72/night. I have calls and messages in to them. Everything else I'm finding is over $100/night (about, or more).

Let me know what kind of lodging you'd like.

Becky

Cheapest hotel with shower and towels works for me. Bedding is required as well.

Good to know - I found another spot with cabins for $39/night - but no bedding or towels. We'll keep looking.

I found the Inca Inn which thinks they have openings for all of us. I'll send in a reservation request. It's $59.95/night for up to 2, in an old school, clean, original motel in the heart of Moab. Linen, bathrooms, continental breakfast and internet access: what more could we ask for?

I'll post when I get the rooms held.

Becky - I can go with almost any type of lodging as I will be driving down and can bring whatever I need. I will also likely have a small one person tent and some modest camping gear.

But my preference would be a room w/ shower and internet in the mid price range, under $100 and best if under $75. Hope that helps and thanks again for all your work.

Hey Skyler... I've been down to Moab two years in a row now, first time was with the DPC crowd. You'll love it if you can make it.

We have a place to stay in Moab for a very reasonable price ($54.95/night + tax) (and with good reviews). It's the Inca Inn. We have 10 rooms being held for us until the end of January. After that, you're on your own. Use the registration form on the web site (no one is at the Inn right now), and include that you are with the Tesch group on April 19 - 22. You'll have to give a credit card number, but it is not charged unless you do a no show.

So, make your reservations for Moab, right now(even if you're not sure you can go)! Cancelling is much easier than getting reservations later on.

Becky

PS - The latest news will be on the 1st post.

Becky, it's not looking so good for me. This whole semester is going to be turning into one big crunch, and the biggest crunch will be about that time. The good news is that I have my first photography class this semester. So I'll probably be working in a dark room the whole time you guys are romping around Moab.... Somehow I don't feel much better for that realization. But I am discovering that film is bloody amazing! We did photograms today, and we'll actually start shooting next week. Cool beans. Anyway, I'm kind of excited and just had to mention that.

I submitted my reservation over the internet. I still don't know what my April schedule will look like, but I have my fingers crossed! :-)

I just made my reservations at the Inca Inn over the internet also. There is a glimmer of hope that I will be able to make it.

Made mine. Thanks Becky.
