I like the 29th and 30th. I am on a search now for a place around here that rents long glass. Would love to have a 600mm for this gig.
Anyone know a place in SE WI. ?

I probably won't be able to make any of those dates. I'll be on break and so I'll be back in Minnesota till the 6th. Sorry guys, maybe in the spring sometime? Good luck and don't freeze to death! |

I counted 66 eagles sittin' on the ice after work today. Lots more flyin' around. 29th or 30th is good so far for me.

Just wondering what everyone elses plans are? We will probably get a hotel somewhere around the area we end up in. Would head down the night before. Not sure if we will stay a second night or brave the long drive home that evening. It really depends on the weather at that time.

I am up for the 29th, my sister flies out of Milwaukee on the 30th. We are looking to book a room at the Waterpark in Dubuque. We'd arrive on the 28th, leave on evening of the 29th depending on weather of course. I would have the entire family & sister in tow, but they won't be at the gtg, bit cold for them. So does the 29th sound good?

I won't be able to go to this one - I'll be out of town for the week after Christmas.

So where and what time?
My wife and I will drive down the afternoon of the 28th. Spend the night and head back the evening of the 29th in order to make it to a Packer Party the following day.
Besides Colin and myself, anyone else driving down the night before?

I'm thinking about driving down the afternoon/evening before. I'm trying to twist my wife's arm to go, but it's not looking good... something about aversion to standing out in the cold :-P

Did this happen? If so, where did everyone go and how was the Eagle turnout? |

In the corner... ;-)
I'm still waffling on whether to drive down the evening before, or the morning of. If the wife comes along, prolly the evening before. I should know by the 28th :-P
Perhaps someone with local knowledge can suggest a good breakfast location, and we can meet there? Or for those going down the evening before, perhaps a venue for a late beer? |

I'm in for the 29th. Andrea's even talking about coming too. I was planning to drive down early but all this talk of hotels has me thinking, hmmmmm. |

Depending on the time we meet, I think I will drive down the morning of the 29th. Its only a 3 hour drive for me. Has there been any thought as to the meeting spot and the time? |

So who's doing what? Let's compile a list of those coming the day before and where you'll be staying and those the day of.
The weather looks decent, sunny and high in the mid 20's but that could change at any time. Dress warm and bring binoculars if you have them. Also, by 4:30 or so it's usually starting to get to dark to shoot anymore. So to make a decent day of it I suggest an early start of about 8:30-9am.
As far as breakfast goes(around 7ish I guess?) you can choose from Country Kitchen, IHOP, Village Inn, Perkins.
A good meeting place for those who show up the day of is AY McDonald Park. Once you cross the bridge into Iowa take the Kerper Blvd. exit. At the light turn right and follow Kerper all the way to the end and make another right. Go up the ramp and off to the right. Straight ahead will be the park.
