I'm hugely disappointed at how low this scored. I'm starting to feel that alot of ppl just give any pic a low score just to *up* their own score. I've always felt that I rate too high, maybe I should adopt this crappy thinking that I receive. Anyways, a few ppl wanted to see it w/o the flowers... so here's my outtake thread.

Booooring, IMO.

This one turned out quite well.

and a completely different take.

if those flowers were growing naturally there under the tree
then the photo fits the theme well, and is a 6 in my mind
due to the focal point.

integral as a title leans toward they were naturally growing there

if that is a garden - those plants arent integral ( symbiotic ) and the image doesnt fit the theme of the challenge as well, with the title used.

dont get angry about the votes you receive - whats the point?

didnt score very well, and i thought it was good image and fit the theme well. folks complained about the glass.
but like my comment says - without water all other aspects of life as we know it are non-existant.

keep shooting for you - not the voters

Integral is essential... Tree's are essential for oxygen and shade, flowers are essential for your spirit.

I do shoot for me, just wish i could get a little recognition.

I gave yours a 5... the logo on the glass was very distracting.
Thanks for replying:)

edit:BTW, your avg vote cast is 3.7... seems absurd to me. There is alot of talent here. Open your eyes and your mind.

the image didnt work w/o the logo
the camara wont focus w/o the logo

in the end of my voting i normally have 1-2 images with a 9 or 10
many in the 5 range
the ones i dont feel don't fit the theme
or just are terrible shots
get 1-3 ( there are quite a few )
average it out - i vote as if i am the only judge
and there can only be one blue ribbon
with so few at the top the average is pushed down.

my mind is quite open - statistics lie - don't make judgements w/o backing.

My life outtake:

Foolishly I read the challenge details and figured that as it asked for an interpretation I'd better give one. Silly me : )
Neither shot was taken for the challenge anyway, but the one I entered was sorta taken with the challenge theme in mind - even though I didn't know what it was at the time!

Edit: Couple more here.
Ironically I also got a couple of decent shots of her in flight.

This is my life outtake.

Hope to do not hear that I lost a great chance.

After all the DOF is insufficent. Isn't it?

What the heck is that?!
I think yes, it's a bit too 'fuzzy' to have scored well, and the leaves in the foreground wouldn't have helped either.

Can't really tell if there is an insufficent depth of field because I can't see anything in focus at all to work out which bits aren't. Did you mean to have everything slightly out of focus, or did it happily
happen like that ?

I didn't have a lot of choices. It belongs to a very rare rce of small monkies and that is a baby. You can guess his/her size by looking at the leaves which are pretty normal leaves.

They are contained in a very large cage shielded with pretty dirty glasses, very badly illuminated and to make it real worse, those little bastards are incredibly fast (other small races have "slower" rythms" but these ones, including the babies, are just frenetic).

Under those conditions, do you think I could stage the shot? =)))

Of course it is a mega-accident.

But I still want and love them.

Those are great! I really like the 'looking sharp' one and would like to see the few decent in flight shots. I also enjoyed your submission. Such a sad part of our lives.

Look out for a thread titled 'My holiday snapshots' or something over the weekend : )
